"Our stay at the cottage was ok, the pool is lovely and the hot tub is a plus. The cottage is very small, we are a family of 4 which was tight. 6 people would be too many as there is only a sofa bed to sit on in the living room so people have to sit at the dinner table in the evening. Thankfully we didn’t need to use the sofa bed as it was broken. We did inform the owner who said she was aware it was broken but didn’t say it would be fixed or a new sofa bought. We could not drink the water from the kitchen tap as it came out white rather than clear. Positives- Nice pool Hot tub Quiet & private Nice big walk in shower Garden with swing and trampoline Negatives - Small Dated interior Broken sofa bed Spiral staircase which is very tight Water not fit for drinking Be sure to take bug repellent"

"The area is beautiful. An unspoilt part of France that has much to offer. Jenny our host lives next door to this traditional gite. She met us on arrival and was hugely welcoming. Throughout our stay she advised things to do and places to eat. We kayaked, hiked, climbed and went on the luge. The gite has all things you might need to stay. We often cooked at home. WiFi was a little slow in some parts of the house but you just have to choose where to sit. 4g was very strong despite it being very rural.l so it didn’t really matter anyway if you have plenty of data. To get bread milk etc is about 10 min drive. Not far but just country roads so you don’t go anywhere fast but you are on holiday so it didn’t matter. The gite is very rural but you can walk down to Clecy in about 45 mins (it’s down hill) although a bit rugged in places so need to be fairly sure footed. And back up is in part very up hill but worth it for the incredible views at the top of the cliff. The gite was a good base for us and was plenty big enough for the 4 of us."

"Ideal place if you want to cycle but if it rains you’ll still have loads to do as the property is within easy driving distance of Caens, Bayeaux and Rouen. Pegasus Bridge and the D Day landing beaches are all within easy reach and museums are very interesting. Only reason for 4 star on accuracy of listing is because it mentions that breakfast is available. Post Covid this isn’t available but this isn’t a big issue as you have your own fridge, microwave and kettle and owners Jean Luc and Catherine will go out of their way to make you welcome."
