"Wonderful hosts made us welcome and able to give lots of information about the area. Delicious breakfast, swimming pool and donkeys! The bedroom was comfortable with lovely views to the donkey enclosure. Clean, modern bathroom with small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Air conditioning not effective unfortunately and outside cooking facilities require updating - lacking basic utensils and cleaning equipment- not a problem for a short stay but may be an issue for longer stays."

They advised us on where to eat and even booked some restaurants for us as well as advising us on good places to visit in the vicinity. "This is a quirky and charming little property. We loved it. We had a two story room with large window and beautiful view of the cathedral from our bedroom. Our bathroom was on the first floor down a spiral staircase. Yes, it was delightfully quirky. This is a great place for those who shun standard square room."

"Our room was in amongst renovated farm buildings, rustic on the outside but nice and well appointed inside. There was a pool. It was set in wooded hills a few miles from Sarlat. Peaceful and beautiful. The reception and restaurant were in a seperate building a couple of kilometers away. Access was by a one way system of narrow roads. The setup was unusual but enjoyable. We ate outdoors every evening and the cuisine was great. We would go again if visiting this area."

"The Maison de Tari is a perfect place to stay for families looking to explore the area around Sarlat. We stayed in a family room with three small children and it suited us perfectly. All rooms had a separate outside sitting area with a large table. It had a good sized pool, a separate communal cooking and dining area, including a gas BBQ and a fridge. A great continental breakfast was provided that included fresh pastries from the local bakery, and a selection of local jams, cheeses and meats....

"Imagine two of your favourite friends opening a beautiful small hotel with perfect amenities in a memorable setting and that might begin to approach Aux Bories Marquay. Five stars do not do it justice. It is now my favourite vacation experience ever. The hosts are kind, gracious and thoughtful. Breakfast is perfect in every way. The memory of breakfast in the courtyard will sustain me through the cold Canadian winter. We look forward to returning next year. "

"The hosts (Americans, who settled in France a few years ago ) were very kind and helpful. They speak French, English and Spanish. "After reading the reviews we decided to take a punt and book the holiday. I’m so glad we did! All the reviews (good and bad) are spot on. The property is ‘rustic’. There are no frills but the layout of the house was perfect for 2 families and it is spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need. "We have had a disappointing experience with this vacation rental. All four of us have suffered from bed bugs. We initially thought we were dealing with mosquitoes. But the bites got so big and painful that it wasn't until later that we realized we were dealing with bed bugs. We complained about this to the landlord afterwards and it seemed only reasonable to us that they would refund half as our holiday enjoyment was seriously ruined. We have not received any response from the landlords."
