"We stayed for three very relaxing nights, using this as a base to visit the Parc Orientale de Maulévrier. We also stopped at a very small farmer’s market in a neighboring town with excellent produce that we are enjoying as I write this review."

"This rental is good for those who need or want a peaceful getaway. The kitchen is a large room and has a full-sized refrigerator with freezer compartment. It has room in the center for a picnic table and benches for breakfast, plus there is a separate dining room. There are three nice bedrooms and one bath upstairs, but the bedroom and bath (shower room) downstairs have surprising omissions. "Nothing like the pictures when we booked. Very shabby accommodation. One indoor very crowded pool and No facilities on site, you have to go int Saumur which is a lovely city. You have to pay extra for bedding . Beds uncomfortable and furniture all very old. Definitely not worth the money. "

"Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam.
