The hotel staff was very friendly & helpful. The location was good, but I wish we had stayed closer to the town center as it was ~15 mins walk from the hotel to the town center. The rooms we had all had a musty smell & very humid, we tried to air out the rooms but the window does not have a screen & we were afriad of mosquitoes so we couldn't leave the windows open. However, our biggest negative with the hotel was one of the rooms we had, had cockroaches. They were small & were crawling on the dresser. We killed 2 of them & thought that was the end of it, but later we saw more. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more on the property as cockroaches are attracted to moist areas. So we moved rooms. The other rooms did not have cockroaches, but still had that musty odor. This was with all the rooms we had. We didn’t bother to let the hotel staff know about the cockroaches as the other rooms were fine. We kept the other room and used only the restroom.
Aside from the cockroaches in the 1 room, our stay here was ok. Their free breakfast offered a variety of foods and fruits. Our massages were done by the kitchen staff & front desk personnel. This was different from all the hotel & spa we stayed at, but then again you have to consider Sapa is a poor mountain town so the staffs are the jack of all trades here. We were just glad nobody got diarrhea during our stay here. So hopefully our run in with the cockroaches was an isolated event.
