"Disappointing. We were looking forward to a relaxing break during our travels. Too many issues added up to spoil the stay. Window shutter was stuck half closed so couldn't fully enjoy the view nor block out the hot sun. Minibar wouldn't cool. Internet did not work in the room. Couldn't swim in the pool without a bathing cap (something to do with hair affecting chlorine levels. Body hair not an issue though). Hotel is not really set up for foreign guests. No facilities in the room. Certainly only a 3 star hotel at best. Not great value for money. Good location was the only good point."

"Hotel has a lovely view of the ocean. The balcony was wonderful. Had dinner at the hotel and it was great. The breakfast and dinner staff was attentive and interesting. Included breakfast was perfect. You could eat a lot or have fruit, yogurt or something light if you prefer. "

"The atmosphere of the castle was absolutely beautiful. You’re in an ancient castle yet everything is so pristine and high tech. The rooms are luxurious, the bed is so comfortable, and everything is clean and well kept. It’s cozy, quant, magnificent, and grand all at the same time. The service was fantastic. We would WhatsApp Mirko or whoever was at the front desk whenever we needed anything. They were always so accommodating and on point with their recommendations. They make everything very easy by making reservations and mapping out cities for you. We would definitely love to go back. Highly recommend! "

"Beautiful and stunning traditional italian architecture. Nice service, stuff friendly, highlighting the massages in Spa, a must during the stay. Sea view front rooms are modern and you can wake up with ocean view with only ocean noices."

"It hurts to give middling ratings. The staff and mgmt were friendly and helpful (eg, they gave me a room close to the reception check-in, they provided transport to the train station when no other option was available). The problem is while the crew might be good they need to run a tighter ship, The property is showing its age, it’s up the hill from the town and is oriented to large groups. As a solo, shoulder season guest, we, the few, are lost in the cracks of pre-season prep. "

"After weeks of researching places all over Puglia, I chose this property for the spaciousness outdoors with a closeup view of the sea. Maria and Alfie were dedicated hosts to make certain I had an enjoyable stay. I discovered about 15 species of birds on my Merlin app. I even spotted the Hoopoe bird long enough to identify it. I found flying into Bari totally doable for my flight in and out of Gagliano de Capo. There are many touristy things to do, yet I’d likely skip those things in favor of staying on the property and visiting the many incredibly gorgeous azure beaches. The color of the sea in this area is beyond my experience . The house is small yet comfortable, especially the bed and special pillows which made for great sleeping. I easily managed without a washing machine. I believe the outdoor area was even more expansive and beautiful than the photos portrayed. I really enjoyed my stay and would love to return."

"Book immediately! This place was magical; the staff, the food, the pool-it all exceeded our expectations. The staff gave us great recommendations for sight seeing, and led us to places we otherwise would not have visited. The dinner blew us away, every taste was rich with flavor. Stefano made our dining experience remarkable with his professionalism and conversation. The owners of this hotel were always around which made the experience feel so down to earth and authentic, their yellow labrador retriever also roams the ground. The free daily breakfast buffet was so good, the quality of food was 5 star. We will be back!"

"Really great spot that epitomizes the south west of Puglia. Lovely old buildings that have been renovated. Great pool. Unfortunately this was out of action the day we wanted to use it, but I still had a dip in the bambino pool! Horses surround the property too, so day hello. Great, grand main building too, with a lovely Edra lounge in the entrance, and frescos all throughout. Definitely worth a stay!"
