"We stayed one week in one of the appartments outside of the castle. We had the big one (No. 1.B) with 4 bedrooms. So a lot of space for 4 people like us, it might be a bit more cosy with the supposed 8 people max. capacity. The environment around the castle is great, pure Tuscan, great views of the countryside and most of the Tuscan attractions are close by to be reached within a daytrip. Rooms were clean and in reasonable shape. The fridge was big enough and had a huge freezer compartment....

"We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed our stay. There were things that could have been improved on… For example, there was nowhere to get breakfast or lunch. The nearest town is a good little hike down a hill and back up with groceries so having a car is a must. We used the local bus line and it was inconvenient. "Cabbiavoli was the gathering place for our two week celebration with family and friends for my husband’s retirement. We were within an hour of every place we wanted to visit (Florence, Siena, Piza, Volterra) and even got to do the Cinque Terre hike, albeit a long day but so worth the two hour drive time! The train being so close made all excursions possible. Wineries are very close and within driving distance. Cabbiavoli itself is loaded with history and its grounds and views are breathtaking....

"Had wonderful experience. Spacious. Clean. Quite pleasing view as well. Would have been better if it was river view, but terrace view wasn't that bad. Bed was comfy as well. Staff were all friendly."

"Hotel Calimala Firenze was probably one of the best hotels nested in the heart of Florence. My family of four was traveling Italy for 11 days during last Christmas holiday. We chose to stay at Hotel Calimala from 12:25-12/27. If you have a chance to stay at this property, please choose it without any hesitation. We reserved 2 bedrooms next to each other ( one room occupied by my 13 and 15 yr old sons). We stayed at a deluxe bedroom and everything was perfect. Welcome gifts and bottled water were served daily. We also had great amenities offered in both bedrooms. Breakfast was great and plentiful. House keeping was provided daily. Hotel staffs were very professional and courteous. Also everything is in walking distance. Uffizzi Museum was only 3 minutes away, shopping centers and restaurants were just minutes away, and even Duomo was only 4 minutes away. We plan to return to this property again in near future when visiting Italy. "

"We contacted the hotel to see if we could drop off our bags early and they said yes. When we arrived 2 hours early, our room was ready so we were allowed to check in then which was a pleasant surprise! They had free bottles of water in the room for us and bedroom shoes. The staff was very friendly and they did a great job in cleaning our room. The hotel was beautiful and we had a pleasant stay."
