Many perfect sunsets at the magical house on the lake

The house has a very open layout living room, kitchen and dinning flow into each other. There are 2 bedrooms, queen size bed in the lake-facing one and one queen and one twin bed in the other. From the bedroom and living room there are big sliding doors onto a large deck with amazing views of the lake with a large table, chairs, and lounge chairs and grill. A dock for swimming into the lake and a gazebo to enjoy the beauty of the spot. There are solar panels on the roof.
The house has 2 bathroom, one full and one half, there is a hairdryer, a washer and dryer in the basement.
There is excellent WiFi and a smart tv.
The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, and granite counter tops.
Coffee maker, espresso machine, milk foamer, toaster, water heater are on the counter top.
There is an iron and board in one of the large closets and hangers and plenty of storage space for clothes.
Heating and cooling is regulated with a thermostat and there are separate heaters in each room, central air conditioning.
The land around the house is beautiful with may areas to sit, benches and hammock , about an acre right on the water. A canoe for water excursions is available and there is a new row boat that accommodates 4. I have life jackets, 2 adult, 2 children. The beautiful cedar dock gets you into the water or just hanging out at the water, and there is a daybed right next to the dock.
Parking is in front of the house and there is additional parking on a lot next to the house. The magic is in the light and the restful energy of the house. We do our best to use eco friendly soap and cleaning supplies, it is important to us that the house is clean energetically and dirt wise. We care about sustainability and respect of nature and do not want to harm especially children or pets, that is why we do not use any kind of poison inside or outside the house, for that reason please forgive the possibility of a bug or an ant. thank you.
The house is very well located between New Paltz and Kingston, there are many amazing restaurants and stores, Woodstock and Rhinbeck are only a few minutes more or you can enjoy sitting at the water and chill.
I decorated the house with my art. Fabric sculptures and paintings.
The house is perfect for 2 and may be 5. The living room is small. The kitchen table pulls out.
the water quality of the lakes and rivers upstate can vary this is mostly a problem in the drought season end of July, when there is limited water flow. I test the water regularly during this time and in general to make sure its safe,
I swim in it, we all do ! The water feels soft and fresh. All my tests came out good this year 2022, meaning no contamination just tested again second of July 2023 no contamination, 6/6/24 , 7/18 test shows no contamination ecoli

Great Get-Away!
Our family had a fantastic stay at this gem of a home! Gorgeous lake views, fun times on the water using the provided kayak/canoe/paddle board, and family bonding and relaxing around the firepit…made more special by Gisela’s art and personal touches (honey from her bees, tea from her plants, her artwork, etc). Only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!

Great Lake house near Kingston!
This house provided the perfect long weekend getaway from NYC. Morning coffee overlooking the lake, afternoon reading in the gazebo, evening dinners in Kingston all made for a great weekend.

Wonderful visit.
I loved Gisela's cottage. It is beautiful in itself but it also is outfitted with beauty and comfort. And you can't ask for a lovelier setting. I was concerned that it might be noisy since it's on a busy road but I very rarely heard any street noise. I definitely want to return to it when we're back in the area.

Fun stay by the lake
I went with my kids (7 and 3) and we all had a great time! The kids loved trying out the different boats and swimming in the lake. The fire pit was a big hit too, especially for s'mores. The house was very comfortable, and Gisela was super-responsive, even coming out at one point for a special request we made. Had a great stay!

A Loving Petite Retreat
We embraced every moment at this beautiful loved home. Gisela was wonderful and so kind. The sunsets, the kayaking, swimming, the purposeful appointed home with attention to every detail. The delicious teas and honey, the small yet comfortable bedrooms, those red Adirondack chairs at the waters edge, the beautiful artwork warming the walls and Gisela’s book of healing brought so much joyful loving energy. We are so grateful and we look forward to returning.

Calm, serene stay on a beautiful lake
Gisela’s home was perfect for our 3 night stay. My husband and son took the kayaks out each evening to paddle around the lake. We used the washer and dryer which I was thrilled to find down in the basement. Overall a comfortable stay on a beautiful property… and we are still enjoying the little jar of Gisela’s honey!!

Another Great Stay at the Lake Cottage
Another amazing stay at the Lake Cottage! Everything was perfect - as always! October is such a special month in the Hudson Valley. I highly recommend the Wallkill walking/hiking trail (parking in Rosedale) and the River to Ridge trail in New Paltz. If you are looking for a great massage Cristina Silver - at Healing Hudson Valley/New Paltz is it! Thank you Gisela for sharing your home!

Beautiful, comfortable getaway
This is a charming, beautiful house that's clean and comfortable. The owner was very thoughtful and engaged in making our stay as pleasant as possible. There's a charming view across the lake, and we enjoyed our dinner looking out the window as the sun set (unfortunately a little too chilly outside -- otherwise the deck would've been perfect!). We ended up visiting New Paltz for some meals and short sightseeing -- wonderful. We would definitely stay here again. Many thanks!

Great lake house getaway!
The cottage was exactly as advertised - as were the sunsets!! This was the perfect place for a family getaway during the crazy heat - lake (reservoir) was excellent for kayaking / canoeing (all there on site), house was clean and comfortable, AC was fantastic, and the views from the back deck are gorgeous! Location is excellent for exploring the area. Great towns close by, easy access to groceries and restaurants, and so many great hikes, rivers, mountain views within less than 30mins. The house is right in a busy-ish road, but didn’t bother us, even with our dog - PLENTY of room out back. Hoping we can get back here in the fall. Loved it!

Relaxing Getaway
The property was great, nicely provisioned and decorated. The only downside was the traffic noise from the road, but that's not unreasonable considering the house is on the main road and quite close to towns, rather than in the middle of nowhere. All in all, a peaceful and relaxing time. Comfy beds and an idyllic hammock spot overlooking the lake. We had the most amazing sunsets. Checkout time was posted as both 11am and 12pm in a couple of spots in the listing and emails, so that was a bit confusing.

Charming
A charming cottage in a beautiful location. The views are incredible and will be exceptional when the leaf peeping season is in full swing. It was perfect for my daughter, husband and myself as we settled her into college in nearby Poughkeepsie. The only negative thing I can comment on is a loose toilet but everything else was clean and comfortable. The owner checked in with us and communicated well from booking to arrival. We will definitely consider again when we visit our daughter at college.

Perfect lake house getaway
We had a great time as a family (two adults two teens) at this cozy little lake house. We enjoyed paddle boarding and fishing on the lake, having a glass of wine and some beer on the deck watching the summer solstice sunset, and exploring the area - I would recommend a visit to Opus 40 30 min north (with picnic), the Woodstock museum in bethel woods for a rainy day (1h30 min drive west), or hiking at shaupeneak ridge or lake Minnewaska with the dogs. We enjoyed shopping in New Paltz (ate at Lola’s several times). The house was as described, small but very functional and cute. Our picky teenagers loved it even if they had to share a bedroom! They also enjoyed the goodies left by Gisela including pasta and sauce at our arrival. Overall a perfect retreat away from the craziness of covid and a long year of virtual school and work!

Neat as a pin
House was very neat and accuratley described. The one fault that it had was that it was on a main road. Although it was quiet at night I did not feel comfortable letting my dog off leash.
