Sunrise Lodge at Mt. Waiontha: An Outdoor Experience

Located only 14 miles from downtown Cooperstown, Sunrise Lodge is the perfect get away. This 2 bedroom, 1 bath lodge situated on 100 private acres, provides guests with breath-taking views of the area. Sunrise Lodge offers miles of mowed walking trails, scenic views, picnic areas with tables, and "catch and release" fishing in one of the 10 ponds. At the end of your day you can gather around our campfire ring to recap your day and take in the night sky and stars. When winter arrives, guests can cross country ski and snowshoe throughout the property. Winter also offers opportunities for snowmobiling. Our lodge is located along a NYS corridor trail that is maintained by the Canadarago Snowtoppers and we have plenty of parking for trucks and trailers of any size. Fall Getaway
Excellent stay! Brad was so helpful - answering my emails promptly prior to the visit and also helped us quickly during our time at the property when we couldn't figure out the TV. He left supplies for s'mores which were thoroughly enjoyed, and even left worms for my husband and son, who had planned to fish. We've stayed at maybe 5 places together as a family, and this was the simplest and easiest check-in and check-out process we have encountered. The house was perfect for our family and our kids enjoyed every nook and cranny (the loft was a big hit!). The property was beautiful and three of us enjoyed a long walk (and saw two groups of deer) while the other two fished (and encountered wild turkey). We were staying in the area primarily to see the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown (which was fantastic!) but I know we'll look back on the 'cabin memories' just as fondly as the museum itself. Highly recommend for anyone considering!

Our Cooperstown trip.
I’m only allowed to give 5 stars I would give 6 if I could. Being 20 minutes from Cooperstown the peacefulness of this property can’t be beat. The owners have thought of everything right down to the S’more’s Kit. Communications with the owner could not have been better. This property checked off all our boxes. We would 100% stay here again.

An at once serene and breathtaking atmosphere, the cabin was perfect for our family of five. Great views of the mountains and valleys of upstate New York, a quick drive to Cooperstown, and ample but homey accommodations make this place a great stay.

Outstanding retreat!
Our family stayed here for 4 days while our sons baseball team played in the Cooperstown area. We're so glad we chose this lodge as it offers a complete home away from home experience from the kitchen, bath, tv, internet, and temperature control. Theres absolutely nothing we required besides food and drink which was a convenient 10 minute drive away into town. If you're into fishing, bring your gear as the property ponds have some of the biggest fresh water bass we've ever caught! One small tip if you're over 6' tall, and it's no ding on the place, but watch your head in the kitchen and bath areas :) The host was very welcoming and available if needed. We hope to get back up to the area and stay here again!

The most peaceful VRBO ever!
Sunrise Lodge at Mt. Waiontha is a wonderful place to stay if you want to escape city life. The only sounds we could hear from the house were the sounds of nature. It was the most relaxing few days we've had in ages. Brad was a lovely host and stopped by to help us with the AC at one point. For anyone who wants to get away from a busy life, I highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed only two quick nights - but the cabin was great! Had everything we needed and Brad was easy to communicate with the whole time. The fire pit was a big hit. I only wish we could have stayed longer to explore more!

We stayed at Brad’s property for a long weekend visit to Cooperstown/Baseball HOF and had a terrific time. My young family enjoyed the abundant outdoors, fishing, nightly fires and exploration. Gorgeous spot
The property was in a gorgeous, peaceful location. It had great outdoor places to relax and enjoy the view. There was everything we needed. The only issues were the sulfur smell in the water and the low ceiling in the kitchen and shower (if you’re over 6ft tall you’ll have to duck)

Amazing property! Fabulous host!
We came to town for an extended stay surrounding my son’s Cooperstown tournament. The drive was about 28-30 min to and from the park, but considering I had 2 other boys not playing baseball, I wanted a outdoor space for them to roam and play. The beds were comfortable and the house is well stocked. The fire pit was awesome (new one almost done will be amazing!) We all caught various bass in the lakes on property and the views and trails were just awesome. So happy we had extra days to actually enjoy it all! Grocery store was super close, another perk with 3 growing boys! Brad was super friendly and even checked in on us to make sure we were good. I can’t say enough about how comfortable we all were staying here. My little one didn’t want to leave :)

Peaceful and beautiful
We had a great stay. Owner is very accommodating and had coffee and cream as well as s’mores stuff there for us when we arrived. House is very clean with an abundance of linens. It’s spacious with plenty of beds. Sitting on the front porch in the morning is so peaceful and in the evening we sat outside and watched the fireflies. We were there for the cooperstown baseball tournament and the drive isn’t bad at all, about 25 minutes but through beautiful country. Would definitely stay here again!

More than you can imagine
Set back on a private road, what a beautiful lodge house for families as well as a home base if you are playing in a tournament in Cooperstown. 20 min drive. But the set up inside was well done. Spacious, many things to do on property. Lots of trails, fishing ponds, great fire pit and outdoor seating. Great for night sky viewing. A upper loft with two beds, extra in the extension leading to a great large bedroom with great touches. But most of all, friendly and helpful host. A gem

Relaxing Weekend
This house is better than the pictures! Clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The views were phenomenal, we enjoyed the fire pit at night and appreciated the smores left for us by the owner. You are in the mountains and no neighbors, very peaceful. Location was 20 minutes to Cooperstown, we were able to relax and enjoy the peac at night and fish at the walking distance ponds and then able to drive 20 minutes and visit the Baseball Hall of Fame then go another 5 minutes and enjoy the Dreams Filed Baseball games.
