"We loved our stay in Wirksworth. Such a lovely area for walking and cycling which we were after. The cottage was lovely. Very comfy beds, great sofa and fab log burner. Kitchen has everything you need. The shower is definitely small as the listing says. However i dont thjnk i realised how small - we managed (just) but this is the only negative in an other wise lovely stay. The village is also great, again with everything you need in terms of variety of places to eat and drink."

"There was many things that were incredibly disappointing about this property. An hour before arriving we received a message to say the main bathroom toilet was blocked and they weren’t going to fix it before our stay, meaning the only toilets available were inside the 2 en-suite bathrooms. After arriving we found the house in what seemed to be mid construction. The kitchen was still covered in protective plastic, with cupboards without handles and a complete lack of cutlery, glasses and plates....

There are a few niggles, although I put them into the category of observations and not complaints. The bed in the 'very' large bedroom was very creaky, and is perhaps time for a new mattress. "Our family of 9 (6 seniors, myself, + 2 children) stayed at this lovely property. Plenty of rooms/beds to accommodate a large group. 1 bedroom is separate, a studio apartment adjacent. The house had everything you could need. Well stocked with bedding, kitchen items, appliances. Heating was on so we never felt cold. Garden to enjoy meals/sunsets. Quiet neighborhood. "Four days walking with friends - great location and lovely property with very friendly and helpful owner The layout of property worked very well for us - we self catered and the kitchen had everything we needed. Only slight issue was that the showers in the rooms were not very powerful - maybe we werent usung them oroperly? Would definitely come again "
