"Myself and my wife loved staying here it was a beautiful guest house very traditional. We were visiting family so found tbe guest house to be very convenient . If i had to moan about anything it would be the thin walls between the rooms we could here the couple in the next room very clearly which was a little annoying at times but usually only when we wanted to sleep. And again its a very small moan becuase they may of been loud people. The breakfast was great and Siri the cat kept us company at times. The whole place was immaculate and everything had been thought of including the honesty bar which was a nice touch. I would suggest maybe adding some snacks to this as well. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone thinking of staying in Amarante. We will be back. Thank you "

"This house was really unique for us for its rustic look and use of natural materials. The beds were comfortable, and there was so much space to relax including huge patio and cozy living room. It might be a bit out of the way from the main road, but it made it feel like a country escape. We had a great time."

"Covelo-Original is exactly what a small guesthouse should be. Our stay was perfect. The Covelo is in the heart of old town and steps away from restaurants and just over the bridge is the religious centre. The room had everything needed (fridge, kettle, coffeemaker, all of which aren’t common in a POR room). The bed was incredibly comfortable and the building has been renovated and modernized yet maintains both original and quirky charm. Staff are amazing and they go the extra step providing handy local info. They even go so far as providing a WhatsApp contact should help be required “after hours”. I highly recommend The Covelo, one of the best guesthouses I have ever visited. "

"This is a beautiful location in the hills accessible to Porto. Spacious property. We appreciated the decent-sized pool, the fruit trees and the games room. Communication with the owners was excellent and Miguel was always very helpful. The property is15+ minutes walk to the train station. Bolt taxis are not expensive. So we found this worked well without hiring a car. Lovely holiday."

"We would like to start off by saying that Bernardo, our host, could not be more welcoming and accommodating! From the beginning to the end of our one week stay he made us feel at home. The warmth of his hospitality could be felt immediately. The home was extremely clean and had every amenity for our stay. Everything from the numerous fruit trees to the "outside backyard kitchen" and pool made our stay one of the most relaxing vacations that we've had in years! Thank you Bernardo for helping make this a vacation one that we will remember for years! Oh and the daily morning fresh bread delivery was a treat..."
