"We enjoyed this fabulous home in December to celebrate a family friendly 40th birthday. The house had plenty of room, beautiful views and all the amenities. We had four families-each adult couple had their own room on the main floors and the children all fit perfectly in the nicely finished basement. There were plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. The kitchen and bathrooms had all the necessities. We also enjoyed the nearby local breweries/restaurants that had lots of room for our big group. "

"We wanted to check out the area for a possible move coming up. Although, it was a bit more in the woods and up into the mountain than I had realized (people were not kidding when they said to make sure you have 4 wheel drive) it was a really great stay for us. My husband and two sons had to meet us there the second day so I guess that is why the cabin straight in the woods was a bigger deal to me and my daughter going it alone. "This was THE perfect spot for one last hurrah/downtime before the school year and sports pick back up. It was remote and quiet with cover water access and kayaks. Everything in the kitchen works beautifully and their is plenty of beds and space to spread out. We really enjoyed our stay"

"We loved the great-room just off the dining/kitchen area, as well as the boat dock for lounging and kayaking. Used the patio for grilling and campfire with s'mores. The location at the north end of the lake is a convenient launching point for area attractions. Couldn't really use the spare sitting room as a bedroom, but fortunately we didn't need it. Had a few minor issues, but the owner/host was very responsive. "

"This is a great place to stay if you want to hide out in the woods for a weekend and go for a hike or two. The house itself was small but comfortable for four people and worked perfectly. We walked to the White Oak Canyon Trail and loved the hike. It was amazing to not have to drive up like I have so many times. There were not too many food options nearby, so hitting the Food Lion and cooking while at the house is the main option, which I always love to do.Beautiful area, nice and secluded if...

"nice property, far away from everything. Large mid century ranch with plenty of room / all the amenities you need. As noted in other reviews, wireless service and internet / wifi was spotty but I would return. 90 minutes from DC"

"Communications were great, and they made sure we knew what we needed for the stay. The place was clean and had plenty of linens and towels for our use. I do think that if you have a small car you will have trouble getting in to the site, especially if there's bad weather. I needed to put my truck into 4-Wheel drive a couple of times."
