"Overall this was a good stay. The riverfront, Cockburn’s & a fantastic Fado restaurant is within easy walking distance Our choice of room was double-booked & we were given the larger house. The ac had been turned off because the nights were cool. The problem was the day was very warm & the house was stuffy and we were told that we couldn’t leave the door open. The owner turned the ac on later in the night & it was very pleasant afterward."

"Nice house, the description is pretty accurate. Quite comfortable for 8 people. We stayed in the mid of summer; the pool was very warm. The river was also warm and good for swimming. The things to pay attention to: - during hot days A/C works to full capacity. - the closest store is 10-15 min away, not walkable - if you are uncomfortable driving steep up/down hill, and sharp turns, consider staying elsewhere. "

"Our group of 10 enjoyed our stay in Penafiel. The property is beautiful - gorgeous sunset, nice pool and a friendly neighbourhood cat. The kitchen has everything that one would need, although it could use a larger kitchen sink! We loved the outdoor bbq and pizza oven. The owner communicated well with us. We highly recommend taking the owner up on the offer to have the Portuguese cook to whip up some excellent Portuguese fare. "

"Arrivés la nuit sous la pluie, avec comme adresse le code qui permet d'ouvrir une boite contenant les clefs. Enfin, après trois heures de recherches, grâce aux locaux rencontrés, nous avons enfin trouvé la maison et la personne qui devait nous accueillir. Lits inconfortables, pas de couverture, télé qui ne fonctionne pas etc.. Nous avons tenté de contacter l'agence soit par téléphone, (numéros fournis par Abritel)soit par mail, aucune réponse, nous étions livrés à nous mêmes, ce n'est vraiment...
