"Luis and his family (including Laika the dog) were warm and welcoming. He has lots of naturalist knowledge. Big breakfast got us ready for our day at Chichen Itza. The bathroom is private but outside the bedroom. Luis demonstrated the proper way to sleep in the provided hammock if we chose to try it. Neighborhood roosters, dogs and loudspeaker announcements will ensure you don’t oversleep! "

"It is really lovely. I had stayed there more than 40 years ago and it was lovely then and it hasn't changed. So nice to take my adult kids this time and have them love it, too. Staff is great. Grounds are beautiful. Restaurant setting is perfect. Food could be better but no complaints. It was way better than okay and easy and the service and setting make up for any shortcomings.
