Jungle Oasis
We had such a wonderful stay! The property is beautiful, just as pictured, and the staff was extremely helpful in assisting with scheduling tours and offering suggestions. We saw toucans and macaws, and a sloth every night! The pool and amenities were amazing and we loved every minute of our stay!

Beautiful house!
We had family in town visiting: 5 adults and 2 kids. This house was perfect! We saw a beautiful toucan right outside the kitchen window, heard howler monkeys, saw white faced monkeys on the front porch, and spider monkeys are bananas right out of our hands on the back deck. Bea and Daniel (owners) are wonderful people and always available when needed. I would definitely stay here again next time we're in Manuel Antonio!!

WOW!!!! Luxury in the Jungle
We stayed for 2 weeks Feb. 2018. The house is beautiful. We enjoyed the amazing views from every room in the house. Wildlife surrounds the house. We were overjoyed to see Sloths, Monkeys, Macaws and Toucans all while floating in our own huge private swimming pool. The owners Bea & Daniel are very helpful and have plenty of knowledge of the area. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Cindy & family

3 family getaway
We had 3 families - myself and my two boys, my GF and her son and daughter and my sister and her two boys. The house was roomy, everyone could get together or away if they wanted. 5 major bedrooms with at least a King and bathroom and a common bedroom with bunk beds for 4 and a King. Jorge the concierge was phenomenal! Anything you need, text him and it's taken care of. Truly a phenomenal experience...

THE GREAT ESCAPE
My best friend and I had a great time. Bea was the sweetest host. She was available for anything we needed and advised us with the best excursions, restaurants and shops around. The house is pretty far up on the hill and away from everything( wouldn’t recommend walking) However, the cab fares were pretty reasonable $8-$10 but can get costly depending on how many times you’re going in and out throughout the day. Overall the house is gorgeous! The wildlife and nature surrounding the villa is a dream. We got to feed the monkeys who came swinging around one morning. They were my favorite part. I had a great time, awesome choice!

Amazing house in an amazing setting
Valle Pura Vida, or as we knew it, the Rainforest Estate, was even better than advertised. House is spacious and beautiful, and the setting is amazing - nested up in the trees with great views to ocean and mountains. Wildlife, especially birds, were abundant. We saw monkeys, macaws, toucans, and a host of resident and migratory birds. The pool is great and the pool table provided lots of entertainment. You will not be disappointed. One of the best features of the house is Hazel (who helps before you arrive and can book a host of activities for you) and Jorge, the onsite concierge. Like every Costa Rican we met, they were both super nice. Jorge was always available, friendly, and quick to help, esp. arranging taxis. We did not have a car and did not need one. We had an absolute blast in Costa Rica and this house was such a great anchor for us. Pura Vida!

Amazing home, amazing hosts, amazing location with wildlife everywhere!!!
From the moment we arrived Béa and Daniel felt like family! Their home is stunning! Everything is perfect for an incredible vacation of a lifetime. The pool and outdoor bar/patio is perfect for lazy days just listening to birds, monkeys, and other animals. Watching the sloth was a big hit and getting a video of Flo moving was so exciting! We enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and even had our friends join us for a dinner gathering with swimming and game of pool. House is close to many great eateries and the tour company for whitewater rafting and canyoning was just around the corner. Music surround sound is there and we loved playing old folk music, jazz and Costa Rica tunes. We had to see the clinic located very close in Quepos and Dr Keven came in from his home on a holiday to treat my Dad for pain. Easy and affordable! Nice to have a modest 4x4 for easy access. Loved hearing about Béa and Daniels life and journey together plus their Cost Rica outings! This home is a hit it out of the park place! Thank you both for your care and hospitality! Hugs a million!!!

Great property! Incredible views!
Just returned from a week long stay at this property and we are so happy with our decision to stay at this lovely home! This house is situated high on a hill with encredible views of the mountains on the poolside and sunset/ocean views from the front deck. We met the sloth that hangs out by the pool as well as the mischevious monkeys who decided to come visit us while we were swimming in the pool. We had plenty of room for the 7 of us and this house had just about everything needed. As great as the House is, the best part of the property is the owners. Never having been to Costa Rica before and not being that comfortable with international travel, Bea and Daniel ensured every detail of our visit was tended to. They gave us a list of all the activities close by and we simply had to tell them what we wanted to do and the rest was taken care of, from transportation to knowing which meals would be included, etc. Bea was always very responsive by text to any questions or concerns we had and even helped me with my Spanish so I could help my boys play some pickup soccer with some local kids in Quepos. The people of Costa Rica are very welcoming and the food was delicious. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this trip! Our family will cherish the memories we made during our time in Costa Rica for years to come!

Lovely Stay
This home is spacious! Family of 8 traveling to the Manuel Antonio area. Jorge, concierge, stayed closely in touch with us our day of arrival and met us at the home upon our arrival! He texted us helpful pictures of exactly where to turn to access the neighborhood. It's not that far off the main road at all. He reviewed everything upon arrival and was easily reached by phone call or text should you need anything. Never had to wait for a response! He gave wonderful recommendations and went out of his way to make sure we were all comfortable and well taken care of. I felt like he was an excellent resource and it felt like we had a local "friend" in the area! We all enjoyed the pool every evening and may I highly suggest getting chef services to come and cook a meal for you! We all agreed it was one of the best meals we ever had! I believe the chef's name was Mangata and "WOW" what a marvelous meal!!!! Hazel or Jorge could arrange for you and I highly recommend it after a long day of touring. The sunsets off the front porch were lovely every evening. I throughly enjoyed the outdoor shower every morning off the master bedroom. What a wonderful way to wake up to singing birds. Keep your eyes upward as I saw a couple of Scarlett Macaws flying overhead. So wonderful to see them in the wild. There is a nice grocery store not too far away which also delivers. The driveway is a bit steep, but after the first day you get used to it! We had a splendid stay!

Wonderful Casa “The Rainforest Estate”
Such a great room house. We had 6 adults and two children (2 & 5). This house could have accommodated more people. Beautiful, comfortable, all the amenities we were looking for. The pool was a bit cool late in the afternoon because it would be in the shade but it didn’t keep us out. Jorge was available by text every time we had a question or needed a ride (I would recommend not renting a car for a stay under 2 weeks). The only issue we had is trying to arrange the Nature Tour in Manuel Antonio, he told us to register directly on line but the site would not take our registration, tried multiple times with his suggestions, he even had spots held for us. He then tried to register for us after 24+hours of trying and it was completely booked. Disappointing. Absolutely loved being in the rainforest (only 20 minutes from a beach). We had monkeys visit every morning and completely entertain us for a half hour daily. We saw Toucans,, Macaws, hummingbirds plus so many other species. We even had an iguana visit around the pool and in the trees a few days. A recommendation would be hire the chef for dinner at least one night. It was delicious and reasonable. Wish we had planned for him at least another night. Do note that the house was up quite a few very steep hills and unless you are a strong hiker they were difficult to navigate. We used 🚖 for everything and they were reasonably priced. I would give this a 5 star rating and highly recommend it.

Paradise like never before!
Our 2 family stay at Casa Fleur de Lis was an absolutely unforgettable vacation! What an incredible way to ring in 2018 - our week here was absolute heaven. And Bea and Daniel were the most incredible homeowners / hosts we have ever experienced. Pictures will never ever do this home justice. You have to see it to believe it. You are immersed in nature and in luxury all at the same time. The house was literally 5-10 minutes from everything and sooooo many great restaurants nearby as well as Manuel Antonio National Park...yet it was such an incredibly private location! The house was impeccable, the beds divine, and the amenities (pool, games, books, etc) out of this world. For such a large and grand house it felt like ‘home’. We saw squirrel monkeys, white faced capuchin monkeys, and so many birds. We fell asleep to crickets chirping each night. The outdoor shower was heavenly as you looked into the rainforest and the views from all the balconies and pool deck were breathtaking every moment. We were literally so alive and in awe every second we were there. Even the rains were delightful as we sat on the balcony with massive roof extending many feet out to protect you. Bea and Daniel gave us so many great tips for restaurants & beaches and set up our jungle Jeep tour which was fantastic. And I was so impressed with the respect they show for their natural surroundings and they have wonderful environmental ethics with water and energy. The open air house means you can be ‘outside’ from morning til night and often we didn’t want to leave the house at all! So many unforgettable memories and we hope one day to return to this mountain jungle paradise high over Manuel Antonio. Thank you Bea and Daniel - may our paths cross again! PURA VIDA!

Gorgeous home, lots of wildlife, HOT!
We traveled in early April 2019 with our 3 teens and a single friend with her teen. We had a wonderful trip in general. Loved the country, the beaches, the unbelievably lovely home with bratty "mafia" capuchin monkeys who came to the pool, huge iguanas, sloths in the trees. Truly paradise. I would recommend probably scheduling fewer outings and just having time to really enjoy the pool and beaches -- they're spectacular. This part of the country is HOT in April, however, over 100 degrees while we were there, and despite having air conditioning as a major selling-point of this house, apparently it is so expensive to run that the hosts very actively and repeatedly encouraged NOT using it except in the evening/overnight. Which sounds reasonable except that if you come home baked from a long day, and turn on an AC in the late afternoon, there will be several hours before it is cool enough to actually hang out and cook or socialize in the common area. This leads to everyone hanging out in their bedrooms, playing on their phones, which sort of defeats the purpose of a family vacation. Daniel mansplained in detail how experiencing dripping sweat is good for you, as I rolled my eyes. Apparently Europeans are much less used to AC than Americans, which is fine, but not really the issue; we don't even own AC in the US but would if the average temps in summer were over 100! So they should exclusively rent to people who love HOT temps during these seasons. Still, I would highly recommend the home and its wonderful owners. The pool was fantastic, the beach was close and beautiful. Restaurants were easy to get to. The house is immense. Hammocks were so lovely. The river rafting is a bit unexciting in the dry season - lots of time spent getting the raft off rocks; but still fun guides and cool. The kids loved zip-lining, although it is not really a way to see wildlife. The showers were great. LOVED the final day when it rained, and the rainforest went nuts -- sitting on the deck with animals going wild all around. Magical!! Rather unbelievably, we skipped going to Manuel Antonio as we had more wildlife early in the morning from our pool area and to/from the beach than would be seen traipsing with 100's of people in 100 degrees mid-day in the game park.

Not what we hoped for
Renting this house is more like renting a portion of a house with the owners still there rather than renting the house by yourselves. If you want privacy, this is not the house for you. On the positive side, the house is in a good location and is nice looking, large and has a great pool. On the negative side: the house gets extremely hot in the afternoons. It does have ac units but the owners said we could only run them when we were there. If you want to leave it in on while you run to dinner so it cools down enough to sleep or spend time together in the den in the early evening without melting, you can't. The owners will remind you to not run the ac and will come in to shut them off while you are away. So most nights while we wanted to play a game together in the den or just watch a movie, we couldn't due to the heat. Also the owners will enter your rented portion of the house every day. One night, my son did not feel well and did not leave with us for dinner. The owners walked right in the front door without knocking. It made him very uncomfortable. We ate out all but one time due to the bugs in the kitchen. The house also needs some maintenance and upkeep. The appliances in the kitchen have seen better days and the only TV left in the house is small and lacking a remote for the cable service. Yes, vacations are not about watching TV, but it is nice to relax from time to time with a movie. The fixtures in the bathrooms also needed some attention with lose knobs and a few sinks that did not drain well. We do understand that vacation rental homes have issues, but at this price point you do expect better conditions. We are VRBO homeowners ourselves and travel often. We loved Costa Rica and the local people but unfortunately felt we were being watched at this house, never could relax and we could never cool down without being in the pool. The high rental cost of this house should have been more than enough to cover any electricity costs for ac. We have rented several houses on VRBO and have always had a great experience. Unfortunately this house was not the relaxing, comfortable and private house we had hoped to rent for our vacation.

Wonderful stay
Wonderful stay on a gorgeous property. A group of 7 of stayed for 1 week and had an incredible time. Here are the points of interest if you are considering this property: 1. Location: Tucked back in the jungle on a steep (but mostly paved) mountain road. It is less than 1 mile from the main road that runs from Manuel Antonio to Quepos. Close to many restaurants and shops, but not really within walking distance unless you are in for some steep treks. The last 1/4 mile up the drive to the house is steep. We drove in a 12 person van and I initially thought we wouldn't make it. After a few attempts it made it to the top. After awhile I got the knack for backing up onto the other drive and gunning it to the top while dropping gears. No worries after that. Pura Vida! 2. Amenities: House is very spacious with a great pool to refresh after a warm day exploring. Beautiful views of the surrounding jungle and mountains. Each room is beautifully decorated. The windows and doors are large sliding glass panels that open up to give a breeze throughout the house. I initially thought it would be very warm but most days it was pleasant and great having the fresh air. Separate AC units in each bedroom and main area. Main area one can be run from late afternoon to late night. Bedroom ones used throughout the night. I am generally very hot, but was very comfortable at the house. The owners do the laundry for the guests. We generally had ours done every 2 - 3 days. So we were able to still pack light and have fresh clothes replenished. 3. Owners: The owners are very friendly and informative. They reside nearby and are on-call if you have any questions or issues. I generally kept in contact via whatsapp with any questions or concerns. They also booked our tours with reputable agencies. The house has some minor rules to follow to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay. Mostly related to keeping the house (and Costa Rica) enjoyable for current and future guests. 4. Wildlife: We saw more wildlife around the house than on our tours and exploring: various monkeys, iguanas, giant grasshoppers, scorpion, dart frog, sloths, bats, tucans, and the occasional dog that would follow us back after a walk. Overall it was an outstanding stay. We hope to return to this property. You really can't go wrong with staying here.

Amazing house
Upon our arrival, we were amazed by how understated the photos and description of the property is. The house is enormous and layed out perfect for a large group. The pool is massive with a great deep end and sitting area. The views are spectacular and the daily visits from monkeys, toucans, sloth, and macaws was a great way to start each day. Jorge our concierge was extremely attentive and helped organize and reserving our activities. His recommendations were all spot on. Louisa our housekeeper is five star all the way!

Great location for groups
5 of us stayed here recently. This house is HUGE, was probably too much space for us, but it is AWESOME. The house manager was great, 100% accessible whenever we needed him, which was nice to know. He took care of scheduling excursions and any updates we had. The location is great, easy to get to Quepos or Manual Antonio. As other users have mentioned, the drive is STEEP. We had two small front-wheel drive cars and they were fine, it was a bit more challenging in any rain, but you will make it up the big hill (you'll see when you get there). The pool is a lovely refresh for those hot days. We had the Chef come in twice to make dinner, totally worth it. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Only one person in a group speaks some Spanish and we were totally fine in any town we went to.

Wildlife Paradise Home in Manuel Antonio
We had a wonderful stay at the Rain Forest Estate. We were here in July 2021 and stayed for 7 days. We were greeted by Jorge our concierge who was very helpful and very communicative through the WhatsApp during our stay. The house was exactly as pictured and we had an ocean view and were right in the jungle with mountain views for days. Our first night we had Alejandro cook us a meal at the house which was amazing. He will come and cook you breakfast or dinner for additional charge but it was worth it for us the first night we arrived since we got there around 5pm. You will need a 4x4 for get to this house. It is way up on a hill, but regardless we recommend a 4x4 for driving around because you never know where you may need to go and need it. The house was clean and big, we had a troop of 20 squirrel monkeys visit us and played on our deck for over 30 minutes, every morning we heard the howler monkeys singing, we had toucans visit everyday, we had a sloth in the tree, we saw numerous birds and lizards and then 2 days before we left, 4 beautiful Scarlet MaCaws came and visited use right on our balconies. It was true paradise. The only recommendations we could make is to please add a washer and dryer and check all the lights, there were quite a few out in the house or wouldn't turn on. We were also told maid service would come everyday, but they only came once. I am sure if I had said something to Jorge they would of come more but we were fine with it so didn't feel the need to say anything. Our family of 5 including a 19 year old and two 10 year olds loved staying here and we would definitely come back.

From the moment we arrived knew we had found paradise. We were greeted by the homeowners who were extremely welcoming and very helpful. They booked all of our excursions and were available at all times for questions or concerns. The home itself is beautiful. The outdoor pool area is amazing and the pool itself clean and refreshing. The wildlife is in abundance and we were able to feed 4 beautiful macaws everyday. The area has a ton to do and we would definitely stay again. Thanks so much for the amazing memories!

Wonderful home
We stayed with a group of 4 adults and 3 children and had a wonderful time at casa fleur de lisa. Daniel and Bea met us upon arrival and went over all information we needed to know. The pool was amazing, and shaded in the afternoon which was so nice. House is beautiful and rooms were clean and comfortable. Enjoyed spending an evening visiting with Daniel and Bea and we were even blessed with Bea’s famous eclairs for a birthday in our group. The kids were excited every morning to see what wildlife we would see while hanging around the house. Would recommend this home to everyone.

Best part is that because of where is located you actually get to see wildlife right in your backyard like monkeys, toucans, iguanas and macaws! Bea and Daniel were super communicative, and really clear about all the specifics of the place.

A perfect getaway in the Quepos/Manual Antonio area. With 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms the space was big enough for all 7 of us. We all loved the pool; it was amazing. I was especially fond of the outer shower off the master bedroom, you have a perfect view of the rainforest, the ocean and the mountains— I wanted to take showers all the time. The owners were very responsive to any issues that came up. We missed the monkeys and sloth at the house, but had several smaller lizards and a large iguana hanging out with us. Their is also a macaw nesting in one of the trees near the home, so we saw lots of macaws and the kids had toucans outside their bedroom windows a couple of mornings. The following may be cons for some, but we were not bothered. The house is three or four floors and the owners live on the bottom floors- they were not intrusive at all- the top two floors are separate. Leaving the doors open (AC only on when you’re there- set at 23c/ 76f, was hot for us but we were there during the hottest time of the year. This should be fine 90% of the time though. The drive was fine and we never needed 4 wheel drive, but if it rained, you would probably need. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Manual Antonio area.
