Parador resort is definitely a luxury resort, ambience is great, rooms were spacious and had good amenities. The only downside is there were no elevators and we had my mom with us who found it difficult to climb the fleet of stairs to the 4th floor. It is not easily accessible for senior citizens.

Enjoyed our stay at this property. Rooms were well appointed, with comfortable beds, great air conditioning and showers. Staff was very cordial and attentive. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. My room was unexceptional and I expected better for the price. The location in Mario Antonio is private and secluded with excellent security. If traveling with young children and planning to stay put, it would work very well. If easy access to other areas, or to the public beach or park in Mario Antonio, is a priority then it's an inconvenience that needs to be planned for.

First time traveler to Costa Rica. Should have watched the scam videos (what to avoid while in country) before coming. Do that before booking anything. Now on to the review: this hotel got favorable reviews but I was left very disappointed. Couple of tips: make sure to ask for copies of all receipts and keep them in an envelope till the end of the trip and use that to compare what they charge you. When you check out, ask for the copy they make of your credit card back so they can’t charge you extra in case they make a mistake when you check out and bill you later (they did this to me - going to dispute with my credit card company). Also check to make sure they bill you correctly when ringing you up at the end of your meal, drinks, etc. My friend was charged for Tito’s during happy hour when all she asked for was vodka cranberry so an overcharge. I was charged twice for a bottle of water and overcharged for a cookie (they thought I ordered pie). The language barrier made communicating these simple mistakes difficult so be sure to call it out and review your receipts! I’d suggest one of the other resorts given my experience but yours could be different
