"Wow! I would have thought “luxury motel” was an oxymoron but that’s how I would describe the Alps Motel. It’s by far the nicest motel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was firm and yet comfortable. The kitchenette and bathroom were fully updated. The location is a quick walk to a small area that includes a market, shops, restaurants, and a playground. The Alps Motel was the perfect base for us as we hiked the Mount Aoraki area, especially since we could use brand new appliances to cook meals and do our laundry. Highly recommended. "

"This motel gives motels a good name. Very clean, comfortable, with parking adjacent to your motel unit. Warren at the front desk is both friendly and super helpful. He rearranged our following days plans with great ideas, and we were happy with the result. Great place to stay!"

"DO NOT STAY HERE ON A MONDAY The motel unit was fantastic and cozy. Had 3 single bed in the upstairs and a queen down stairs. Was nice and tidy. However the town really disappointed us. On mondays apparently everything is closed. We got in at 8 and there was no food establishment open so we had to skip dinner. But the room nonetheless was great! So defiantly stay here but just not on a Monday. "
