For the last 15 years, Casa Del Sol has been the vacation home where countless friends and families have made their best memories.
From the moment they walk through the front door and set eyes on the view through our wide-open window walls, they’re hooked. Their eyes try to take it all in as they make their way through open concept living room and dining area, pausing to admire the expansive kitchen, its large, welcoming island, and two (yes, two) full fridges, and out onto the verandah where they can see their whole group will enjoy their meals every day.
Three steps up to the pool deck and they are speechless.
The large infinity pool that seems to merge with the ocean beyond, is unparalleled. When they realize that they only have to take the few steps down for their own private access to the beach, they can’t believe it. They can see themselves sitting on the loungers situated in our personal beach area and taking dips in the cool ocean. They can also see themselves listening to music, laying on the pool-side loungers, and enjoying each other’s company as the day unfolds.
With a longing look at the view, they pass through the kitchen - once again admiring the family-style kitchen (and they haven’t even seen inside the cupboards yet!) as they head to view the rest of the house. They see the powder room located near the front door, and then step into the main floor bedroom with its king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom, and easy access to the living areas. If they haven’t claimed that room then they head up to the second floor and are immediately greeted by the “kids’ zone” where they see children’s movies, games, and colouring books. The teens among them already have their eye on the blockbuster movies and comfy couches.
To the left they see an open door. Again, a king-sized bed in a large room with an ensuite; and are those bunk beds in the corner? The groups that come with young kids head on in there to unpack and unwind.
The rest continue to the right where they find the cheerful courtyard bedroom with its king-sized bed, cozy settee, and ensuite bathroom.
Maybe they continue from there to see what the beach rooms looks like, discovering not one master bedroom, but two. Sharing an expansive terrace, the first master, also with its king-sized bed and ensuite, has a couch that can be pulled out for those with little ones who aren’t yet ready to sleep alone. Then they walk through the double glass doors and suddenly they’re looking over the pool and the ocean once again: that amazing, breathtaking view!
If they can pull themselves away from there, they can check out the second master bedroom with – you guessed it – a king-sized bed, small desk space (who on earth is going to be working??) and its ensuite. The glass door access to the verandah and the lounge chairs for both rooms, as well as conversational seating is something they missed! How? Well, there’s that view again…
If they’re a bigger group, then they might have rented the third floor as well – “The Oasis”. They’ll come to the top of the stairs and be greeted by an expansive room with its own sitting area, king bed, ensuite, and private access to the third-floor terrace and it’s comfortable seating under the shade of the pergola.
And that’s where they’ll get a little stuck because the view from that height, the breeze, the sudden realization that this is ALL theirs, will stop them in their tracks. They’ll need a moment to regroup.
Of course, for those who don’t need that third floor, they still make their way up to the third-floor terrace via the outside stairs and, well, they get stuck too.
If we can lure the big group back in, then we can show them the seventh bedroom, tucked around the corner with its quirky powder room access, private use of the ensuite, and of course, that king-sized bed!
Over the next 24 hours, they’ll realize they have an outdoor grill, six bikes, strollers for anyone small, pack n’ plays for anyone smaller, and a wagon for everything in between. They’ll see the pool light up for those late-night swims, they’ll discover they have access to the most expansive TV satellite system imaginable (US, Canadian, AND British shows?? Every sporting game they didn’t want to miss while they were away??), that the Wi-Fi is strong enough for everyone to be streaming, that the kitchen is ridiculously equipped with everything they could possibly want… including a dishwasher!!
Once they’ve settled onto the pool deck loungers, they realize the sheer volume of floats, pool toys, and sand toys; they realize they can play Bocce Ball, “Corn Hole”, frisbee, and football. And wait, are those kayaks??
When it’s time to eat, if they haven’t had Nina prepare an authentic Mexican meal for them, they amble 12 minutes down the beach to work up an appetite. They can barely manage to choose which restaurant to go to, there are so many amazing options. Should they visit La Sirena and listen to their live band? Or maybe head down the road to one of the authentic Mexican restaurants all along Niños Heroes Street or Rojo Gomez. Whatever they choose, the walk back is beautiful, along the quiet and safe beach, or via the road (or a taxi, of course, when the wonderful cuisine has made that necessary).
Throughout their entire trip they are so glad to know that Roberto, our Property Manager for all 15 years, who knows the house as well as (better than) his own, is just a message away. They love having Enrique – and Adrien and Alex too – there each day to help get kayaks into the ocean, set up more loungers on the beach, blow up those extra pool toys, prep the bikes, and maybe grab some ice when they run out. And Rosy is there mid-week of course, ready to tidy and clean, make beds, and sort out that kitchen.
They may have met with Tomas or Lighthouse Tours and chosen some amazing adventures to go on. Or perhaps they booked Gabriela to come and give everyone a massage on the verandah. They may even have reached out to Mina and set up a private yoga session on the pool deck.
Whatever they chose, from the moment they walked in they were hooked. They knew they would have the time of their lives; they knew that this was a house purpose-built for making memories. And they knew – 100%, without a doubt – that they would be back.
