"Stayed at the Douro Castle Signature Hotel for 4 great nights. The Hotel is a lovely small boutique type style Hotel, right on the Castle wall and in the centre of Lamego. Very walkable to all sights and restaurants, bars and shops!! Lamego is right in the middle of the Douro and snnidesl base to see Pinhao, Peso de Ragua and others. There are over 45 Quintas within 15 miles of Lamego. River cruises from 1 hour to 1 / 3 and 5 / 7 days. Only 80 mins from Porto and very close to many other places. The breakfast , restaurant, service and staff, pool and bar lounge are superb for a small Hotel, excellent value!!"

"The property is beautiful, with a fantastic location and a room offering a lovely river view. It’s conveniently situated for river tours, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The entire place was well-maintained and spotless. The only drawback is that it’s a bit pricey."

"If you’re looking for a place to escape the crowds of Porto and enjoy the beautiful vineyards, then this is your spot. Spacious rooms, small, but nice bar area and rooftop pool. Their wines are great, and food was very good for dinner (especially the octopus). Breakfast buffet was good, plus they made eggs to order along with fantastic bacon. "
