"The staff is absolutely exceptional. Very kind, polite, helpful and the nicest people. The location is pretty good too - about a 15-20min walk to old Funchal. The walk back could be longer due to the uphill but nothing too crazy. Parking can be tricky but I never had an issue parking at the lot that was designated for the buildings but not for the hotel. The hotel could really use an upgrade on their rooms however. Possibly a fan as it can get quite hot. The walls are very thin and you can hear...

"The hotel is very clean and in a beautiful location, the room was a good size. The food was not really to our liking but there are plenty of other restaurants in Funchal. I would not recommend hiring a car if you are a nervous driver, the roads are very narrow and steep! I was disappointed by the service I received by the staff at Our Madeira who own the hotel, but the staff at the hotel itself I could not fault. "Charming villa well located within minutes of the town. You do need a car to get there and parking on the street is easy. Rooms were comfortable and shared bathrooms were cleaned often. Great renovated kitchen with large balcony attached. The host is welcoming and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay there. "
