"We travelled in the off season (early March) and really enjoyed our stay. Our room had a garden view and it was perfect. We strolled through every pathway in the property and for a flower/garden/rose lover it would be absolutely amazing in the summer when everything is in bloom. Our check-in greeting and encounters with staff were always polite and cheerful and breakfast was perfect every morning. We would happily stay here again."

"It’s an old building but it was clean, staff were very friendly, everything was good, except that there’s no air conditioning and the fan was very noisy, another aspect is the beds are very hard, if they could change that, it would be great. Breakfast was excellent. "

"Charming villa well located within minutes of the town. You do need a car to get there and parking on the street is easy. Rooms were comfortable and shared bathrooms were cleaned often. Great renovated kitchen with large balcony attached. The host is welcoming and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay there. "

"Loved the boutique hotel. Situated at the top of the hill next to the cable car station and monte palace gardens. Also only a few minute walk to the wicker toboggan start point. Great staff, overall lovely stay and would stay again. One caveat, if you are planning on having a car, make sure you are comfortable driving VERY narrow, steep and winding roads. "

"The most welcoming and kind hearted host! We arrived late and she was so accomodating, great communications and made us feel at home instantly. The room was spotless and furnished with everything you would want - lovely welcome gifts also! Wish we could have stayed longer! Great location for PR1 sunrise hike the next morning. "The staff is absolutely exceptional. Very kind, polite, helpful and the nicest people. The location is pretty good too - about a 15-20min walk to old Funchal. The walk back could be longer due to the uphill but nothing too crazy. Parking can be tricky but I never had an issue parking at the lot that was designated for the buildings but not for the hotel. The hotel could really use an upgrade on their rooms however. Possibly a fan as it can get quite hot. The walls are very thin and you can hear...

"Wonderful place to stay in a lovely part of Madeira. Jorge and Gabriel are the perfect hosts, so welcoming and pleasant with loads of recommendations and great communication. Rooms are clean with lovely facilities, great pool and the views are heavenly. Good location, less than 5 mins drive to the beach in Calheta. Highly recommended."
