"Charming and beautiful. Every detail about this historic hotel is thought out. Unique wallpaper and decorations follow from room to room. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent. Many options, including great gluten free options for my daughter with celiac. "

"This was a nice and clean property. The room was a little on the small side and there was no sofa, but there was one chair and a desk. The AC was loud. Breakfast was not included, but they had a restaurant and bar on site. They had an urn of delicious hot apple cider in the lobby in the evenings (and maybe in the afternoon). Shops and restaurants were within walking distance."

"Compared to last year's stay, property improved (made a little upgrade). Room had microwave and refrigerator comparing to previous stay."

"This hotel could use a bit of an upgrade. The rugs are stained and the sofa was dirty. For the price, this was surprising. The location was excellent, but parking on the premises cost $40 a day. The breakfast was typical Marriott bland and processed food fare. It’s corporate America at its worst. "

"Located right in downtown Portsmouth. Clean and huge room. The bathroom sick needs some fixing, did not drain. One of the lamps did not work. Overall nice place. "
