La localisation est idéale: on est à proximité de la station balnéaire de Ponta Do Sol, à 30 min de Funchal en voiture et des premières belles randonnées. Bref, nous recommandons !"

"The garden was lovely with a nice secluded spot for sunbathing. The house was nice. The balcony having lovely views over towards the sea. The locals are very friendly. However the house was a little dusty and there could be more attention to the cleaning in the bedroom. The washing machine was not working which was more of an inconvenience."

"This is a nice romantic retreat (log fire in lounge), quiet and set in the woods and pretty gardens and well cared for. Nice place for a meditative retreat or base for walking. Very good wifi. The owner is very helpful and pleasant but not always on site. Apart from no TV or central hotel reception, the apartment was a good size and well equipped, especially the kitchen. "Part II of my Review The small community of Loreto where the Casa is located, has one main street with several bars, an appliance shop, a market, and a grocery store. The grocery is well stocked (and there is also a chain of large modern groceries scattered around the island). We enjoyed Sunday service at the Catholic Church in town with its outside pews. "We had a wonderful stay at Casa do Pombal. Sidónia let us check in early which we really appreciated. The house is exactly what I was looking for with great views and a traditional feel. "Great apartment with everything you need. Leontina, the owner, is very friendly. The terrace has fabulous views and great for eating breakfast or a glass of wine. Ponta da Sol is a short drive and a nice little town with cafes and restaurants. The location is a great base for exploring the island. The drive up the hill is steep and twisty (but not narrow) but if you are intending to drive in Madeira that is something you have to accept. It is worth it!"
