"We stayed for 3 nights. Beautiful old house, view of water below was so lovely. Enjoyed the pool but it was a little late in the year so it was just a little cold for us at our age. We still did get into it twice. Kitchen had all the pots and utensils we needed. We would love to stay here again when in Portugal."

"Good apartment with secure parking, microwave and 2 ring hob. Nearest supermarket 15 mins but try the roadside barbequed chicken lady and bakery in the village. Proprietor loaned us some scales as I was close to my 20kg allowance. A couple more pillows would be a bonus."

There was no-one staying in the second property by the water but don't think it would have changed our opinion. "Great property exactly as described, and the setting and views were just the best! The local town 20 mins drive on the river is Amarante and it stole our hearts. The drive straight down the mountain to a slightly closer town Celorico de Basto is not for the faint hearted, and was not repeated. The TV was in French which was a bonus as we don't speak Portugese. The host was very accommodating of our very late arrival at 11pm due to flight issues and responded to all messages immediately.A great...

"My goodness, what an amazing property! Although distant from most major hotspots, it is smack in the middle of nature, and far away from the traffic and noise of civilization. This unique property includes an old large wine making room with equipment, the entry to the breakfast and dinner rooms. Charming and outstanding."
