"Positives: The house was large with nice grounds. There was a nice walk to the local pub. The bedrooms overall were nice. Technical issues: • The hot tub kept tripping the fuseboard. So we missed out on the tub on the Friday night. • A few more dishwashing tablets would have been helpful, as would bin bags • The outside staircase up to the building had large spaces between the bars, which is dangerous for small kids. We suggest a simple wire in the middle of these to ensure kids don’t fall...

"The stay was great, everything was as published. It is quiet and secuded...so if you arrive after dark in fog like we did, have a flashlight/torch handy to help make your way from the parking area to the house. We ate at the nearby pub and had a nice meal. The host was super responsive to our communication via VRBO. It was located about 15 minute drive to York."

"This particular house/client charged us for two separate nights and two separate cleaning charges. I spoke to these people before our trip and was promised a call back to look at the double cleaning charges. We heard nothing!!! "This is a very spacious, comfy property in a great location for exploring the area. It was a short drive to Outwood station and from there a 10 minute train ride into Leeds. We also visited the National Mining Museum near to Wakefield which was very educational. We would recommend this house for anyone looking for a short break in this area."

"The house is in a good location and quiet residential area, on street parking was never a problem, always a space. We did have an issue with the cleaning, which was rectified quite quickly. There is room for improvement in some areas which I have highlighted to the owners. "

"We chose this property because it had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and was within walking distance of the city centre. There was no parking permit ( car parking in York is very expensive and we had two cars with us) but we managed to get some on street parking a few minutes walk away. We just ended up using two bedrooms as our kids wanted to share the twin room. Property had a bed guard available which was great. Plenty tea and coffee as well as herbs and spices in the kitchen. Let’s start with the communication of the “hotel” asked several times for check in details finally got it a couple hours before on text.
