"Lovely hotel in the heart of La Rochelle. We had a room in the annexe which was good because at the time there were extensive renovations taking place to the exterior of the main building which was shrouded in green fabric. Internally it was renovated I believe last year to a very high standard and was modern whilst retaining many original features. "The hotel is conveniently located near to the bus terminal so making it ideal for arrival & departure from airport. We loved the central location with everything a short stroll away incl shops, cafes & quay etc. Staff were very welcoming & helpful when needed. Our room was lovely, big, quiet, clean & serviced regularly. Thank you for a lovely stay & we will definitely be booking again for our future visits to La Rochelle"

"We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat. And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs...
