"Lina & Dimitri were wonderful hosts and always made sure we had a comfortable stay. They offered us cold drinks like ice coffe, when we relaxed at the pool area. The apartment itself was cosy and we had our own balcony. The air condition also worked perfectly during the hot days. There was a bus station just outside Iliaktida apartments, so it was easy to take the bus to Chania and other places in Crete. "The rooms were odd, felt like staying in a concrete tomb. The pool was yellow-ish green, it was not swimmable. The hotel is very remote, no food, taverns, groceries within walking distance. beds were old and very uncomfortable, and overall we felt very unsafe in this location and left after one miserable night. "Wouldn't call this exactly a hotel, it's more like some family owned bunch of rooms in a big house. But they are well maintained and convenient enough, although quite simple. The location is nice, meters from the sea and a lot of restaurants on the promenade, the beach however is about 10 minute walk away. Nice, quiet place, good base for exploring the western part of Crete. Very friendly staff, well prepared with information and hand-enhanced printed maps for the region."

"We were disappointed in the beach and surrounding facilities. It is an extremely large area so other parts of the beach may be different. There was only one beach bar at night that only served frozen pizza, so unless you did a big drive it was very limited. We didn’t want to drive up the steep roads again. The hotel is very clean but basic. It’s lovely to hear the sea at night with the doors open! "

"Thalassa apartments was awesome! It was super quiet and we enjoyed looking at the view. If you’re looking for something more lively, maybe travel closer to Rethymno. This town was very quiet and not too many places to go. However we still enjoyed it thoroughly! "

"Stated here many times over the past 20 years. Still brilliant Hosts are more than friendly. They bend over backwards to make the stay as great as possible. The hotel is getting a make over and improvements left right and center. The pool area is terrific."
