"The Host Ben is very responsive and kind. I wanted to experience living among the Ticos and we loved it. This place is unique and cozy for the 4 of us girls. There are some minor upgrades needed but we are so easygoing that it was not a bother. We survived a huge thunderstorm and no power for just a couple hours. The property has 2 cats. Also each bedroom has air conditioning and we enjoyed Netflix in the evening. This area is definitely a surf town and several restaurants walking distance....

"Everything was fantastic. The house was in a great location. Close to grocery, restaurants, the marina, and a short golf cart ride to Flamingo Beach. I highly recommend renting golf carts. It was the preferred way of getting around and seeing things going on in the area. We had our family of 13 and it fit all of us very comfortably. "Our family had a wonderful stay at Villa Portrero. Everything was perfect!"

"We stayed here for my Wifes 50th and invited some friends and family to stay with us, we had a total of 21 people at the property and still felt like we had plenty of space. The dirt road leading up to the entrance to the property was a little rough, and some of our guests could not comfortably do the walk up and down, I strongly suggest renting a golf cart (Which we did) but it's still pretty rough, even with a cart. The house keepers were amazing and cooked a great breakfast daily! "

Tho the beach is more of a surf than swim spot, it was entirely possible to spend time playing in the shallows!"

"This is a great property and location, just a few steps to a wonderful beach. The pool is great, and house layout works really well. We were there end of season, and the property could benefit from some basic maintenance, but nothing serious. Communication with the property manager was good when booking, not so good during our post-booking / early planning phase, then excellent and responsive in the week or so before we arrived and until we left. "We loved our stay!! The location was perfect, we didn’t want to be right in the hustle and bustle but wanted to be driving distance. The beaches were so great, the tide pools amazing, pool was perfect and we sat on the veranda facing the ocean every morning and every evening. The security guards were so smiley and nice!! "What an experience! If you are looking for a change from busy all inclusive resorts this is a great option. The unit is gorgeous. Spacious with a back yard with a pool overlooking the ocean. It is in a gated community which adds to the exclusiveness of the experience. The beach which is in walking distance is gorgeous with warm water and good size waves.
