"I would Refugio Lodge to anyone and everyone traveling to Tamarindo. ALL of the staff were so amazing and beyond accommodating. A special shout out to the youngest staff member, Pablo! "Pretty remote location about two hours from the airport. Roads are horrible or non existent. Nice pool. Electricity was out for 8 hours with no generator. Nice breakfast every morning. A couple of decent restaurants in walking distance , nothing fancy but food was good . Lola’s right on the beach and Gregarios. Only a three minute walk to the beach. Hosts were friendly, welcoming and informative. "

"There were 16 of us and we all had a blast. It is very secluded yet close enough to Playa Grande beach, and a short walk to cross over the estuary by small boats. Walking and boarding the boats are not for the physically impaired. The staff did their job and Alcira, our cook did a phenomenal job.
