We loved this hotel as a family. Tons to do! Out of our 7 days, we never felt bored. We had no desire to leave the hotel because there was so much we could do on site. The only downside was no hot water in our room which made it extremely difficult with an infant and toddler. Beyond that, we loved our stay.

What a magical resort! It’s a great place for a family vacation. We loved seeing the monkeys, coatis, and iguanas. The cenotes and natural surroundings were the main reasons we chose this resort. All the restaurant options were fabulous! We especially loved the Japanese restaurant, El Tempo. One great benefit of booking through Expedia is that the hotel concierge will make three restaurant reservations for you. The weather wasn’t ideal for us, but we embraced it—snorkeling in the rain and even spotting a small stingray at the resort’s beach. Be sure to bring water shoes, and you’ll have no trouble walking on the rocky parts of the shore. The rooms were perfect for families, and the bunk beds were an incredible option! The staff were fabulous and so was the night time shows. What a gem of a place! We can’t wait to return!

There were some wonderful aspects of this property but overall our experience was extremely frustrating. Though I booked directly through Expedia (family room 2 adults, 2 kids ages 6 & 9), my reservation showed up for the resort as if I reserved with another company (PriceTravel?) and listed my children as babies. Due to this error, we arrived and were told we owed 5000 pesos (~$250) to cover the cost of the children. Additionally, the resort said they only received part of the money I paid expedia and ultimately told us we owed more money for the kids. I don't know if it was expedia's error or the resort's, but half of my vacation was spent dealing with this mistake. Neither the resort or expedia was helpful in resolving the issue. Restaurants were another source of frustration. If you are not a royal elite, it's nearly impossible to make a reservation at a non-buffet restaurant. No one told us until the 2nd day that reservations open online at midnight for the next day and are gone in minutes. It took complaining to 4 staff and 2 supervisors before they made us a reservation. The food was OK, but not great. The positives are that the property is beautiful. Despite rainy weather, there were a lot of really special activities (snorkeling in the river & cenote, exploring Mayan ruins) and those staff were fantastic. Our room was nice and cleaned regularly. The grounds were beautiful to explore, and the animals were particularly fun to see (monkeys, coatis, raccoons, birds).

The food here was absolutely disgusting - when sitting down to eat each day I instantly lost my appetite, we eventually agreed to just continue to get food outside of the resort and stuff our faces to the point where we would not be hungry and forced to eat at the resort

Unfortunately we booked this hotel for our winter vacation and it was that nightmare booking. We had to move rooms twice for several reasons, the first room was extremely moldy and the second didn’t have hot water. There is no beach to swim in this hotel is very rocky. The staff was great but we left the hotel with a letter from the managaer stating that they will credit us for the last 4 nights and now they have ghosted us, no one replies, Expedia is not helping either, it has become frustrating. Do yourself a favor and do not book this hotel if you want to have a pleasant relaxed vacation.

The report is run down and needs lots of updates. They are understaffed in all the restaurants. The food is on the lower end of quality. The drinks all seemed to be watered down. I could drink all day and not feel it. They have significant plumbing problems. Iin our room the sewage came out the shower drain each time someone flushed a toilet or user a sink. Many other people complained about not having hot water in the shower. The hot and cold water faucets were reversed from one lavatory to the next. One lavatory would have hot water on the left and the next one would have hot water on the right. We had.a coffee pot in our room but were never left any cups to use. There were not any cups left in the room for bathroom use either This is a one star resort at best. Unless a person only wants to eat at buffet, restaurants reservations have to be made at midnight. The Italian restaurant is terrible. The Brazilian restaurant is pretty good, but all in all the dining options are below average I would not recommend this resort to any one. There are much nicer resorts in the same price range.

Enjoyed the property and experience for kids. Activities, room and staff was good. Booking for restaurants for dinner was poor as you had to stay up til midnight to ensure you could secure a spot but even then they were booked up in minutes. The dinner (bookable) restaurants themselves were great just wish they were more easily accessible for booking.

Everyone was very helpful and making sure we had what was needed. Checking in and out was fast. Food was good, saw different variety for lunch and dinner in the buffet section.
