After reading the reviews and seeing the pictures, I thought 4 nights stay was in order. It wasn't pleasurable, we had to leave after two nights. Many problems that I shouldn't have had to manage during a vacation, the unit wasn't ready. Check-in went smooth. We arrived to find out from the checkin guy that the rooftop pool was closed. Primary reason we chose this rental was the rooftop pool (and the beautiful pictures on VRBO....), no notification from the owner prior to our arrival. As we entered, AC wasn't on in the unit, windows open, and the tile floor was wet and dangerously slick. After we turned on the AC the moisture on the floor went away after about 30 minutes. AC did blow cold. Electronic safe didn't work, Mario the property manager was trying to get me to fix/reset, finally we had the maintenance guys come look at it, who finally just gave me a key to it. Now we have wasted a few hours waiting on floors to be safe and the safe to be functional. Back door lock was broken so felt unsafe the entire stay. Pictures of broken lock sent to Mario with no response. Next morning, no hot water for a shower. I was by myself so took quick freezing shower. Mario and property folks worked on it, promised was fixed, but never got fixed. 2nd day, my girlfriend had arrived and we had to go visit a friend to take a shower at their place because still no hot water. We had had enough, the place wasn't safe and secure, we weren't sleeping, and couldn't take a proper shower because of lack of hot water. We left after two unpleasurable nights. The property was generally clean upon arrival, though I only gave 3 cleanliness stars as there is black gunk around the shower entrance. Also, the light in the shower didn't work, I think another light was out somewhere, TV controller in bedroom didn't work, etc. etc. While we were in the unit, communication with Mario was just ok. Obviously he didn't get the rental into a livable condition while we were there but he did provide some level of effort. We communicated that we were leaving after the 2nd day, Mario asked for a paypal account to provide refund, which I provided. Two weeks go by, no comms, no refund, I guess it was supposed to just go away.... I have to reach out to him, he wants me to pay full price for the two nights I was there. Incredible. Won't be back.
