This charming penthouse is located inside the Tohoku gated residential area, a very private and peaceful zone in the center on Playa del Carmen (where 38th street and 25th avenue meet). Only 7 minutes walking from the turquoise Caribbean waters and 5 from the vibrant 5th Avenue, where all the restaurants, bars, cafés and shops can be found. This apartment has a spacious bedroom with air conditioning that overlooks the private swimming pool, one complete bathroom, equipped kitchen and a wonderful terrace with grill and space to sun tan, dine or relax in the pool. It is ideal for a couple who is looking to rest and relax without being away from the lively center of Playa. All services and activities of interest are close by.

Awesome little retreat!

Loved our 4 night stay here! Victor, the host, was very accommodating and let us check in a bit early and out a bit late. We really appreciated not having to carry our luggage around due to our odd flight times! The rooftop private pool was a perfect oasis to just relax. Inside is a bit outdated, but it had everything we needed and was fantastic rental. Would stay there again.

Quiet Paradise
Overall the listing is spot on, quiet gated community. Small plunge pool that was nice to sun tan by and dip into to cool off. Victor is very responsive and helpful with all our requests. Tons of space to lounge, everything you need to live for however long you want to stay. Few blocks from the beach and the famous 5th Ave. Tons of restaurants, stores and amenities close by. Highly recommend a stay here.

We loved that we had a huge outdoor area and a plunge pool. The small condo was quiet and close to restaurants, supermarkets, and 5th Avenue. Victor was a super host and if we needed anything he responded right away.

For the value you could not ask for a better location! The ease of check in/out was very much appreciated and the host was easy to communicate with. 15min walk to the beach convenience stores and restaurants right around the corner, gated community with friendly guards and great air conditioning. Thought the pictures of this property are dated, this property still satisfied our needs.

Perfect getaway
This was our first visit to the region without staying at an all-inclusive resort, but it won’t be our last! Victor was a gracious and attentive host. The property was exactly as described and perfect for our needs. We were able to easily and safely walk anywhere in Playa that we wanted to go. The small private pool was especially nice for relaxing and cooling off on a hot summer day. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Stellar Location and Very Clean
Victor was waiting for us upon our arrival to help us in and give us a tour. He was very communicative before the trip to ensure that we would get there OK and that we had everything we needed. Victor even checked in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything or it could assist us in finding anything to do. This is a beautiful property, very quiet, clean, comfortable. And I would recommend staying here to anyone including my friends.

Wonderful relaxing place
Exactly as described-charming penthouse! Nice to have the soaker pool to cool off in. Also appreciate the beach umbrella and chairs. Enjoyed just relaxing under the pergola. Lovely neighborhood. Close to everything: beach entrance at the end of the boulevard. We preferred grocery shopping at the store on 30th which is closer and less expensive than the new one on 10th. Lots of great authentic restaurants close by on 30th. Our favourite was Birria! We had one little issue with the A/C unit that Victor was prompt to reply and take care of. We enjoyed our stay.

We had the pleasure of renting this unit from Victor for two weeks while staying in Playa Del Carmen. Our stay at this unit was both comfortable and safe. Victor was a generous host, very reliable and prompt to meet our needs. The unit offered all of the basics to live while in Playa plus a lot of extras that made our stay even more pleasurable. Even though this unit is not new and modern, it checked alot of our boxes when it came to size, cleanliness and location. The outdoor space is very large and private allowing us to spend some time in our surroundings and enjoy the warm evenings at home. We will definitely consider renting from Victor again next year.

Great Location
Condo in a Gated Neighborhood. The Condo is big with a bedroom and a kitchen with a big hallway in the middle, with chairs and umbrellas. It has all amenities and 5th street is about 2 blocks away. We used the stove and microwave to make breakfast. Used the pool after a hot walk back. Stay on Calle 38 and there is great ambiance restaurants with a jungle feel and good food and beer. Supermarket Chedraui is around the corner and very clean. They have everything you need, plus they cook food to eat there or take home. We ate the shrimp ceviche, shrimp tostadas and guacamole. We also got a ribeye and they cook it for you there with vegetables or fries. Victor was a great host.

L'endroit est charmant, l'hôte, Victor, prend le soin de nous demander si tout est correct et est disponible au besoin. Nous nous y sentions comme à la maison, avec la terrasse et la piscine juste pour nous, c'est un vrai paradis. L'appartement est suffisamment grand et dispose de tout ce dont on a besoin.

Excelente ubicación; hermoso lugar.
Privado, limpio, y bonito lugar. Victor proveé una excelente atención. No hubo ningun tipo de problemas o preocupaciones con el lugar. Al contrario, muchos detalles y todo cerca; playa, restaurantes. Het appartement bevindt zich op een bewaakte compound. Het is er heerlijk rustig. Op loop afstand van de winkels, terrasjes en het strand waar de drukte is. Het appartement heeft een fijne airco en een goed bed. Wij hebben er een week heerlijk vakantie gehouden. We vinden dit appartement een aanrader! Dank je wel Victor, voor dit fijne verblijf.

Unfortunately, I cannot understand the positive comments. instead of 9 nights, we left after 2 nights! the apartment was very dirty... the freezer was iced over and broken and therefore not usable, as was the toaster, the oven and the stovetop... all the dishes were dirty! There were leftovers from food in the cupboards and everything was poured out - absolutely not hygienic! the pillows were dirty too! under no circumstances could I have stayed there one more day! after 2 nights we booked a hotel... I reported this to the host after we left, not even an apology came.

My stay
Well what can I say, Victor was a great host. Check in was a Breese. You are centrally located. We had some issues with water, Victor remadeied the problem, which took a couple of days. During this time Victor offered the use of his shower. We lost air conditioning one day and it was fixed the same day. It was nice to have the soaker pool, which was maintained well. To sum it up it was an enjoyable stay. Thanks Victor!!
