5/5 Excellent
"Definitely worth the stay at the lodge because it takes about an hour to get into the park due to speed limit ranging 10 mph to 25 mph due to VERY curvy roads up and down a mountain. With staying at the lodge you’re within short driving distances to your destinations of where you want to visit in the park. Like the General Sherman Tree parking lot is only a 6 minute drive from the Lodge. So very convenient for us and the kids.
The rooms are fine and worked for us but are outdated. But we’re not here for modern fancy rooms and such since we’re here to explore the beautiful breathtaking Sequoias, mountains, streams/falls and views. It works out since shoes get dirty fast.
They have a restaurant here that does breakfast, lunch and dinner. Best to make a reservation for dinner which they mention when you check in. They also have a cute little gift shop that also has a small section of food like bread, peanut butter & jelly, ramen noodle packs/cups, personal cereal cups and even have half gallon milk in the fridge along with other things. But I would recommend stocking up at the store before entering the park because it’s pricey for each item here whereas the stores you’d get your moneys worth for the quantity. But again, it’s very nice to have for convenience incase anything happens or you forgot! Gift shop is only open 8am-8pm though.
Overall definitely worth it and the staff is beyond helpful and friendly. We loved it and I would recommend if you’re here for a few days."
