"Second stay at this hotel with family, really enjoyed again and sure we will return. Staff all lovely and helpful especially with children. Small issue dealt with quickly. Really like the relaxed atmosphere in the bar and seating area and outside area around the lovely lake. Great being able to get good food not just in the restaurant. The pool is really nice but feel it would be good especially in the holidays to extend the kids swim times just a little longer as we were unable to use the pool on the first night and it wasn't very late at all. Stayed in a junior suite and really liked the extra touches. Having the kids on a large sofa bed in another separated part of the room makes a big difference. Also the jacuzzi bath and the inclusive well stocked mini fridge make it feel like value is added and help create a relaxing stay and make us choose this over other hotels in the area. Also the breakfast both days was very nice and no fuss."

"I really liked how the history of the hotel and its modern updating just seemed to fit together. I was impressed with its layout, the ample space, seating and tabling available for guests to sit outside and socialise. The staff were very helpful, assisting with any query we had with patience and politeness. The bedroom was very well equipped, with seating for two and ample storage space without it being overbearing. Very comfortable nights sleep was had and the food was very good and cooked to our requests. A very pleasant, relaxing stay in a clean, tidy homely accommodation in a small market town, steeped in history. I will visit Oundle again and I will stay at The Talbot Hotel."

The owners have given thought into the hotel with fantaictic wine glasses, snug kettles, Dyson hairdryers. The food is delicious and having ate at p"
