"The hotel is a large old inn on the outside, but inside is modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. For example: we were shown to our room on arrival (never had that before) and were a font of knowledge about the various local walks and sights. There is even a map painted on the ceiling of the bar! Restaurant was an excellent source of hearty and freshly cooked meals (breakfasts and dinners). Highly recommend."

"Troutbeck Inn is a gem of a place. The owners are lovely and we had a good laugh with them. The food is second to none and is locally sourced and cooked fresh. We stayed for 2 nights in September whilst walking around the Ullswater area and the location is superb. Right by a main road for good access but without an intrusive noise from the road. I'm sure we will be staying here again if we plan more walks in future."

"Pooley Bridge is one of my favourite places on earth. I've been going since 1982 and on that occassion I had a pint or two in the Pooley Bridge Inn. I've stayed before here and it's great to know that it's still as fabulous as it's alwasy been. Room was beautiful, balcony was lovely to have. Food is outstanding, the staff are all so helpful and full of joy. It has such a positive vibe, fills you with energy and also relaxes too. 10 out of 10"
