"Our stay in the castle was a great experince. The staff friendly. Breakfast great with some healthy choices Need to know walking here is on cobblestones. Cars are not allowed. If staying at the castle you are walking with suitcases from the bottom to the top. Wear good shoes Lots to do within the castle. Other places to visit are about an hour away"

"Walked up from the train station. Beautiful location. Initially confused as to where lobby/ check-in is located because of so many Pousada Vila Obidos signs, but once we located the proper entrance, our experience could not have been better. Pedro is an excellent employee, giving us suggestions, answering questions, seeing us walking along the street and ensuring we were doing well later in the day. Walking along the top of the wall is so fun and you must try a ginja!"

"Pros: GREAT location with beautiful views right across the street from the ocean. Staff is very friendly. Loads of amenities (though you have to pay extra). Cons: Bungalows have ZERO light in the kitchen and minimal lighting in the room. We had to use our headlamp to cook.
