"Very peaceful retreat on Lake Bacalar. I enjoyed all the wellness centered activities. The food was excellent and the staff amazing. Between the A frame design and the outdoor shower, we were sold. Highly recommend. "

"Great place to stay!! Friendly staff, rooms were bigger than we thought they would be and super clean. We went on a family trip, 10 of us between adults and kids, felt safe at all times. After the lake we walked to the centro from the hotel at night,there was a night market with all types of food and goodies. Families, couples, groups of friends and some by people by themselves, we were all enjoying the great atmosphere, lots of fun!!!"

"Casa Bakal was exceptional. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and provided guidance for different activities. The cleaning team did an excellent job in cleaning our bungalow. The location is perfect and the views are breathtaking. A very important factor was that it was pet friendly and our little guy was very happy there as well. From arrival to departure the staff made sure we had an excellent experience and we absolutely did. Casa Bakal is definitely a return destination, often. "

"It was not as nice in reality as in the pictures. It was OK though. Basically clean. The light in the bathroom did not work. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I slept very well there. The area was inconvenient, far away from the centre of town, so that you are dependent on taxis to get around. The taxi drivers are good though and charged a fair price. I never felt ripped off by them. While the area did not feel overtly unsafe, it was pretty grungey, not the best part of town. Were I to visit...

"If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place this is it! I am not into yoga but if you are then this is the place for you. The staff are courteous and very helpful and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. We stayed for 3 nights and never left the area. The Lagoon is absolutely gorgeous. I recommend taking the boat tour as Jami was very iformative and friendly. "

"Our stay at Azules Nomeolvides was truly a peaceful sanctuary, seamlessly blending comfort with respect for nature. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, we felt completely immersed in tranquility. Sam and Bernie were fantastic hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, along with their two friendly dogs who added to the warmth of the place. The staff was equally kind, and the food—absolutely delicious! Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, highlighting fresh and local ingredients. Luxury Villa with jacuzzi in Bacalar ( 5 min from the lagoon)

Remote but lovely

"If you book here expect correspondence from Atom Heart Bacalar. We did not know this and thought the message in What’s App was phishing so we ignored it. Once we got that straightened out, things were easier. It is very remote, bring everything you need for food and drink with you. Bacalar stores are about 1/2 hour drive. The place is beautiful and you feel like you are in a jungle. The outdoor kitchen has everything you need including an outdoor grill. They provide small pots with charcoal and salts to help keep the mosquitos away at night and it was quite successful. The beach club you have access to is run down so we didn’t stay long enjoying the villa grounds instead. I would definitely return to this place."

Cool apartment in the jungle!

"The place was clean, outdoor garden and massage pool beautiful. There is an outdoor kitchen and dining table between the two bedrooms. Great for playing games or having a glass of wine. Very peaceful and charming. Beds are very comfortable. Staying in a unique jungle place was an experience and I can now check off my bucket list. I am still thinking about going back and staying a month in this peaceful serene apartment. The outdoor kitchen and dining area is great for playing games. Short distance from Belize"
