Please note that there is a locked cleaner's closet in the hut that is off-limits. The yard is a shared space, which means you may run into us or other guests during your stay. You may also encounter some of the typical lakefront wildlife, including various waterfowls, birds, red squirrels, deer, and muskrats. Keep your eyes peeled for the stray gray cat that wanders by from time to time - it's a real treat to see her!
While we love our wild neighbors, we kindly ask that you refrain from feeding them or attempting to pet or interact with them. We want to ensure that they stay happy and healthy in their natural habitat. However, feel free to take as many photos as you like to capture these beautiful creatures in their element.

Parking in Paw Paw is easy with both on-street and off-street parking in most commercial settings. Most people will find having a car a necessity, however, If you are an average walker you can get to a few restaurants and shops on foot. We are less than 1.5 miles from the village center.
Van Buren Public Transit is a public transportation agency providing curb-to-curb service to anyone - including wheelchair-accessible transportation. Dial-a-ride, Reservations and Flex Routes, a local bus service.
We have a "bring your own firewood" fire pit by the lakefront that is perfect for roasting marshmallows and enjoying the starry night sky. We also have kayaks and a paddle boat available for your use, so you can explore the tranquil waters of Maple Lake.There are two kayaks for Quonset Hut guests, however the paddle boat is shared with others.
As you wander around the yard, keep an eye out for the local wildlife, including waterfowls, birds, red squirrels, deer, muskrats, and bunnies. Don't be surprised if you catch a glimpse of our friendly stray gray cat as well. To ensure that these creatures remain healthy and undisturbed, we kindly ask that you refrain from feeding or trying to pet them. However, you're welcome to snap as many photos as you'd like to capture these adorable critters in action.
