"This Quinta exceeded our expectations. It is situated in a rural and beautiful area. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. There’s also a much larger town not too far from the Quinta, called Penafiel. The villa where we stayed had a breathtaking view of both the vineyard and river. "A very old and tired hotel. Room had not been aired for a long time so smelled damp and musty - I had to open the window as soon as I entered the room. Old furniture, old and dilapidated bathroom / shower. Span and gym not available. Swimming pool available but costs €18 for a swim! I dont expect to pay as a guest of the hotel. Breakfast OK - coffee cold."

Beautiful place to stay in Porto

"So many things to love about the GA Palace Hotel. The room and bed was really comfortable with a large bathroom (double sinks), great restaurant, day spa and pool. We were only there for two nights, however, choose to eat meals all meals at the hotel restaurant or use room service, apart from the lunch we had in the Douro Valley. "

"Lovely hotel! Large, spacious, beautiful rooms. Our balcony was right on the open square. It was amazing! The bar was awesome and the American bar tender was very nice and helpful. All the staff were wonderful! The very central location was awesome and made the days easy. Such a short walk to the river, churches, the market, everything! Great hotel!"
