This is a perfect location to enjoy a Golden Bay holiday. This area offers not only a safe swimming beach with cockles to collect but impressive bird life, fishing and walks. Make use of the kayaks supplied. Located only minutes from Collingwood where you will find a petrol station, café, store and pub. This side of our world offers the stunning Wharaiki Beach, horse riding, wildlife, Eco tours, a selection of cafes plus tramping on the Heaphy Track.
The Space:
Takaka township is only 15 minutes away, on the way is The Mussel Inn and Pupu Springs. In town you can enjoy some retail therapy, cafes, and only minutes from other attractions like Anatoki Salmon.
From Takaka a 10 minute drive can take you to the very popular golden sand beaches in Ligar Bay and Tata Beach. Pohara Beach also has cafes and a general store.

The Neighborhood:
The golf course, boat ramp, Pohara Beach plus the golden bays most popular and loved beaches, Ligar Bay & Tata Beach, are a short drive away.
Only a short drive from the famous Mussel Inn, and to Collingwood which offers cafes and Farewell Spit Tours.
This part of the area has a number of potters and artists studios.
Wharariki Beach is by far one of the most stunning beaches in New Zealand. Huge rock formations, sand hills, caves, cliffs, dunes , white sand and baby seals.
Farewell Spit is New Zealand’s longest sand spit (25 km) and a nature reserve. It is an internationally-renowned bird sanctuary with over 90 bird species recorded in the area.
Heaphy Track is one of New Zealand’s nine great walks. Many people choose to walk only to the first or second huts on the track instead of walking its entire length which have toilets and running-water facilities. The Heaphy Track, also allows mountain bikes.
Abel Tasman National Park is a must see, golden sand and clear waters, 3 hour to 3 day walks. Don't forget your camera.
Getting Around:
There is no public transport to or within the Bay, a car is essential.
