"Staff were excellent, without exception. Warm and friendly and entirely welcoming. The bed was comfortable either side of the centreline, although very obviously two singles zipped together which made for a dip in the middle. Blackout curtains were a positive too. Downsides: soundproofing is poor. You can hear every door closing and too many conversations from other rooms. The shower pressure was painfully weak (but the water was always reliably hot on demand). Finally, if you have mobility issues make sure you book an accessible room, otherwise you will be faced with a plethora of small staircases and a menagerie of random doors. "

"An excellent old inn in a beautiful old town. The food was very good but the offering of English wine wasn't up to the same standard. In keeping with the style of the building there are no lifts, be prepared to carry your luggage to the third floor however, the staff did offer to help."
