A beautiful resort that needs some tlc. The staff are amazing, and the pool and deck is 1st class. The guesthouses are spacious and clean. It’s just that the grounds and buildings are needing some updating. The sidewalks have broken up a bit, the grounds are expansive and are more ‘natural’ than the pics show. And the guesthouses need some maintenance. It is a bit far from town so I’m glad I had a motorbike. This all being said, I really enjoyed my two nights there and would stay again.
Tranquility. This is the first impression that came to mind. The gentle winding walking paths which led to each independent cottage was flanked by a soft shallow rill thar delivered a wonderful combination of sound and movement to the space, it enhanced the contemplative and restful atmosphere. I was even pleasantly surprised with the occasional jumping of small carp.
Hospitality. I was greeted with a genuine "Sawasdee Ka" from the lady receptionist who quickly provided a cold glass of water as she recognized I was quite warm from hiking to the resort from Pai with a mid-sized backpack.
The check in was easy, my reservation was there despite my last minute decision during the week to venture for the weekend getaway. I was propery escorted to my cottage as i chcked in after dark.
The room was large, clean, had all the basic amenities to accommodate my stay and gratefully had A/C that worked quietly and quickly. I personally liked the layout design of the bathroom. The front and back decks were quaint and added to the idyllic imagery.
I did explore the area a little. The pool looked well situated and maintained however I was out exploring the area and sights around Pai.
If I was spending a week there i would have taken advantage of the pool and restaurant.
Overall it met my desires and I would definitely recommend to those who want serenity. I will return here again.

Hotel is just ok. Needs some work to get more stars for me.
Service was great! Breakfast was amazing and the staff was very helpful and kind. Loved our stay there! A bit outside of town - too far to walk, but we rented a motorbike for our stay and we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the property while still having easy access to town.
Loved this cute resort! Very quite and beautiful surroundings. It was a little bit away from walking street, but the hotel provides free transport to and from the town area. The rooms were clean, and the pool was clean too. Would recommend this place to a friend for sure!
The facilities are well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The resort is located out of town. It’s a good 20 minute walk, a 150 baht taxi ride each way. The resort does offer a shuttle, once a day while I was there. If you have your own transportation it would be better. It is very quiet.
Property was absolutely beautiful! A little outside of town but all of the better places in Pai are. The room was great and the staff was very friendly.

Great price, quiet location
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming! The grounds were well-kept and had a more laid-back feel than the places I passed “in town.” (It’s about a five minute scooter ride into Pai.) The villas themselves were comfortable but definitely had a rustic feel, particularly the bathroom. Most of the appliances and furniture seemed pretty worn, but value for what I paid was really good.
We stayed in Baan Krating as the photos looked good and it was slightly out of Pai town. But the photos don’t do this place justice! It is an amazing place and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, we felt so welcome from the moment we arrived and were sad to leave at the end of our stay. The cabin rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pool and gardens are beautiful. They helped us organize transportation in and out of Pai, although it is within walking distance as we managed this walk with our backpacks on the way there. Perfect for those looking for a quiet break or for nature lovers, but do remember you are outside of Pai town and therefore can come into contact with some of the local fauna walking around. We would definitely stay again if we go back to Pai!
The place was great. Lovely grounds and the rooms are all really cool. The pool by the ricer is a nice place to lay around. It's a bit of a walk into town so I would recommended having a scooter. It's walkable in about 25mins
Great quiet place. The rooms have plenty of space and the common gardens are magnificient. 15 minutes walk to the walking street. Definitely recommend.
The hotel facilities are very nice. Everything is very stylized and well thought of.
The only problem is the staff. Their English is pretty poor and fitting to the city and back is available only via taxi our hotel transportation.
Hotel transportation is only available during certain hours (until 9:30).
Other than that there was an issue with the check in. Although we ordered the premium room the staff tried to convince us that we ordered the regular room. After about an hour this was resolved.
Breakfast is pretty bad. It was another 170bat per night for the breakfast which consisted of an Omlet, some toast and pretty bad orange juice. The problem is there is nothing else nearby.
We were there during low season so the resort was fairly vacant. We were unbelievably impressed with this hotel. The staff were very accommodating despite the large language barrier. It is located about a 15 minute walk out of the city but we were able to rent mopeds and the staff had them delivered directly to the resort. The wifi wasn't the best as it doesn't fully reach all of the rooms but the adorable villa type room and clean bathroom and ac made up for it.
we chose this hotel because it said it had a spa tub, but it didn't. our room was good, but the bathroom window was wood and it did not fully close. it was freezing in the room at night. there was no good lighting in the bathroom and the shower had low pressure and wasn't really hot. the staff was nice but spoke no English so could not help us out. restaurant was not open for dinner so we had to go to town.we were looking forward to a romantic getaway that ended up being a disaster.
Hotel was great...beautiful pool, rooms & grounds! The only slight drawback is that it's ~1 mile from town. However the hotel provides a free taxi at various times or they can arrange drop off of motor bikes at the hotel. Or it's a 15-20 minute walk. Overall we loved our stay at Baan Krating!
We were dropped off in Pai township and hired a scooter, which you will need (or taxi or shuttle) to get to the hotel. We really enjoyed the quiet location and was perfect for our overnight stay in Pai. Wifi was good, breakfast buffet what you would expect. Great place to base yourself if you have transport.
The hotel itself is ok but a few areas for improvement. The pool was so cloudy we couldn't brave it. The 'restaurant' does not serve food during the day and not sure they even offer dinner. The hotel is actually just outside Pai so I wouldn't stay here unless you're happy using a motorbike. They do offer a free shuttle into Pai of an evening but if you plan to use that you might as well just stay closer to the action. The drive is very easy and takes less than 5mins by bike. As Pai is so rural there are a lot of insects and unfortunately a lot got in our room. The room did have insect doors fitted but they were quite poor, with large gaps at the top and bottom.
