Funky 50's beach house

Come and enjoy the special micro climate of Otaki Beach. Relax on the deck with a view out to a private garden setting or take an easy three minute stroll to the beach. This Funky Fifties beach house has a bamboo bar, wood burner and a wide choice of vinyl records and CDs to listen to, many of which could be your very own favourites. In this modern age a real novelty for some! Close proximity to beach shop, restaurants, markets, outlet shops and urban centre plus the Sunday market opposite New World is well worth a visit. In season you can pick your own herbs from our very own garden. An hours drive from Wellington/Palmerston North. Otaki beach is another one of those well kept secret spots that unless you visit you won't discover for yourself. Don't take our word for it read the amazing feedback left by our previous guests!
Special conditions:
Wifi available for general use only. 1GB per night. Downloading and Streaming not permitted. Wifi is monitored and extra time can be purchased if required.
Minimum stay 2 nights for up to 2 guests. Extra adults $20 per person. Cacti garden with views to the north and eastern hills. The bach suits single, couples or a family of four. May not suit families with toddlers due to the vast range of collectables on display. Public holidays including Easter, Queen's Birthday, Labour Weekend and Christmas holidays - preference given to bookings of 3 nights or more.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels); Cleaner can be arranged if required approx $60-$120

A rockabilly beach-house dream
We really enjoyed our stay here in Otaki, close to the beach, great communication from the host and what a treat if you're into 50s - 60s vibe. Truly a lot of love has gone into this place.

We enjoyed our short stay at Otaki Beach and found plenty of interest there and in the surrounding areas. Chitra's house had everything we needed. The video collection is a treasure.

Peaceful, relaxing bach close to the beach. The back covered deck area is a perfect spot to read and even in the rain provided some nice shelter. Great record collection, books and magazines. Friendly host who made the whole experience an enjoyable one.

Really enjoyed the three nights here. Taken by the retro decor and attention to make holiday makers stay memorable and comfortable. So close to the beach. Loved the large deck overlooking the back lawn area.

Ideal for a restful holiday at a wonderful West Coast beach
We loved reading and dozing on the back porch. The beds were gloriously comfortable and there is plenty of interest in the house and the environment. Proximity to the beach, Te Chur coffee & ice-cream outlet and the beach store were extra bonuses.

A real home away from home
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy but spacious well-appointed fascinating home. The veranda provided a nice large sheltered outdoor space and the super comfy beds some great nights' sleeps, The location gave easy access to the beach for walks and sunsets too. Would definitely return!

Enjoyable weekend
We enjoyed our long weekend away with great weather and having the covered deck was a bonus. Typical kiwi bach with plenty to keep you occupied with books, movies games and lots of LP's .
