Lower Dover Jungle Lodge & Maya Ruins - Hostel
2.0 star property
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (7)
"This place is very back to nature. They have a mini farm with turkeys and ducks etc. Because it’s a little out of the way they do offer Brkfst and dinner. If you book in advance they reserve dinner. If coming in late, take advantage it was a very nice meal. There is also a time restriction for dinner, be aware. Owner is very nice and informative."

"Wonderful location. Well named. Only a 5 min detour from the highway but secluded and safe. Surrounded by rainforest trees and an abundance of birds. I stayed there for 2 short visits and stayed in 2 different bungalows, one of which has a deck on the back that makes for great birdwatching. Very comfortable. Surprisingly low price. The owners/hosts/chefs were attentive and friendly. "

"Beautiful property and really awesome villa! There were so many tropical plants and flowers around the property and villa. It felt very peaceful and private. It was a very unique experience being in the villa because it’s all open floor plan with only screens separating you from the forest. There is no air conditioning but it was still pleasant with the fans and breeze. It was very damp though with all the humidity. Be warned, It is extremely remote. It is at least 45 minutes to 1 hour from...

Heliconia is a self catering studio cabin with jungle facing private balcony
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (8)
"The property is amazing. Only received low score based on accuracy of listing. My cabin was not one that was pictured, however I did still enjoy the cabin and it was cool and comfortable. The pool was…. Not as clear as the pictures. The food from Jack at the bar was 10/10 phenomenal. I recommend the buffet and full English breakfast. The road coming up the hill is a little rough, but manageable. I enjoyed my stay. It was quiet and comfy. Very relaxing."
