"We spoilt ourselves with 2 nights in Ahas Pokuna. This is a truly special place. Greeted at the road side by Arun our naturalist guide we were immediately enveloped in the forest following a footpath (truly the only access) leading us up the the very exclusive camp. We were the only guest and had the middle of three tent suites/tree houses. The beautifully maintained grounds of the camp are full of birds and the staff are always attentive. "Ella Retreat is a small, hillside resort of about 4 or 5 units ranging from small villas to glamping tents. The villa had a lovely outdoor decking area with hammock. The tent, an outdoor bathroom and fabulous views of the waterfall. The rooms are clean and tidy but do expect insects ( and monkeys) as the resort is in the jungle. "The opportunity to stay in a villa surrounded by tea fields was too hard to miss out on. We arrived from Badula on the train and were welcomed by the staff at the house.
