"Our stay in the castle was a great experince. The staff friendly. Breakfast great with some healthy choices Need to know walking here is on cobblestones. Cars are not allowed. If staying at the castle you are walking with suitcases from the bottom to the top. Wear good shoes Lots to do within the castle. Other places to visit are about an hour away"

"Walked up from the train station. Beautiful location. Initially confused as to where lobby/ check-in is located because of so many Pousada Vila Obidos signs, but once we located the proper entrance, our experience could not have been better. Pedro is an excellent employee, giving us suggestions, answering questions, seeing us walking along the street and ensuring we were doing well later in the day. Walking along the top of the wall is so fun and you must try a ginja!"

"Accommodation was very tired, cracked bathroom surfaces, rusty radiators, broken kitchen cupboard and bin, lack of glasses and cutlery. Staff at the clubhouse restaurant were unfriendly and we felt like we were too much trouble for them. "

"the house is nice and is exactly as described on the website but there are things that did not work properly and that should for the price we paid (high season being in August), and that we reported to the owner as well. The most important is the electrical panel that was defective (several of us received slight electric shocks, especially in the kitchen), a single key to open and close the house (being a house for 8 people, the management is complicated), the cooker fire very weak, the shower...

"The hotel is in an excellent location, right inside the castle wall. You could easily walk to stores and restaurants. If you want there are many entrances where you can climb the wall. The only con is that cars are not allowed to come to the hotel making it a bit difficult to unload your luggage especially in the rain. However everyone at the hotel goes above and beyond. They actually came to help with our luggage. Filipina and Sofia were just wonderful. Filipina helped us change rooms, even gave us a free lunch and reserved a taxi for us on our departure. Sofia helped us with the TV in the living room and kept us posted when there was an issue with the pipes. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast as very good. This is our second time at this hotel and I would not think of going anywhere else. "
