"We stayed at the Villa Tea Fields for one night during our visit to Nuwara Eliya. The room was clean/combortable, bathroom was newly renovated/modern. Staff were very attentive and courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The balcony was a great place to relax, read a book, take in the view of the garden - very pleasant experience. We highly recommend the Villa Tea Fields if you're visiting Nuwara Eliya. "

"The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable and clean. The carpets and bathrooms were not as clean. The showers were unreliable, with low water pressure and unreliable heat. The staff were not hospitable or conscientious and the hotel listings we’re confusing. No food is available from the hotel. Overall the space had a dreary colonial vibe."

"It was a cute vintage bunglow with 3 rooms. I really enjoyed the antique set up. The shower and furniture were so cute and antique. Customer services was amazing. Highly recommended!"

"We only ended up staying 1 night here due to last minute changes in travel plans but our stay was lovely. It's in a peaceful area of Nuwara Eliya and just a short ride into the main part of the town. Vinsan was a great host. He was very helpful and even prepared our 15 month old little boy his own special breakfast (without us mentioning it or asking) and our breakfast was ery nice. He dropped us off in his Tuk Tuk to the station at Nanu Oya in perfect time to catch our train. Would recommend....

"Foods are okay. Damaged/torn bedding and towels, dust came from the ceiling, used/dirty duvet covers, one bed was broken and kept top of the on the wood, outdated shower room. Not value for money. "

"Myself & my partner stayed here for 2 nights. Unfortunately the photos on the website do not represent the actual rooms that you get. For some reason, the lovely tiled floors in the photos have since been replaced with a dark red, dirty carpet which instantly makes the room feel unclean. The shower head did not prop up. On arrival the toilet seat had dried up urine all over it. The red carpet had dead flies & many black hairs on it. There was often a very strange loud mystery noise that vibrated...

"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. "

"Had an amazing time ! Our trip had a very rocky start but the couple who owns the place were soo homely and treated us like their own daughters. We had an extremely good time, and we would love to stay with them again any time we ever visit ! Definitely recommend and will make your trip to Sri Lanka 1000x better. "

I think more designed for locals. Decided not to stay- no refund granted. Found a brilliant replacement. The princess bungalow in town "

"I booked this cottage due to its high rating in Expedia. However, my experience was not as good as other same price range hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka. There was about 20 flies welcoming us that took hours to get rid of them. The facility it self is not bad but needs more effort in maintaining the facility and welcoming the guest. "We had an excellent stay in that property (3nights March 2025) It located on the hill so the views from the balcony are spectacular. Still just a few steps from the center of town. Very good breakfast with lots of options. Exceptional stuff, especially the manager who was very informative, helpful and kind. The only down was the bathroom which I'd say needed some renovations and the noise coming from the construction going on at the front of the hotel but I understand at some point they have to do it. I would definitely recommend this hotel!"

Beautiful and Serene

"The Cheriz Boutique is beautiful. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The view of the tea plantation was just stunning. This is a great place for a couple's retreat - peaceful and romantic. The staff were very nice and the a la carte menu was great. It is an ideal hotel to escape to and relax. "

Incredible view

"Wow—best view on town! When I got to the property, I felt like “I don’t even need to go hiking, this view beats anything I could hike to.” You can literally see and hear a waterfall from the balcony! Super nice staff, good food, including a particularly nice breakfast spread. A little bit of a pain to hike up there from town, but doable in 10 minutes or a very short tuktuk. Room was perfectly good. Only quibble was that the walls (even though it was clear they had been padded) were very thin."

"The property is amazing, and I was especially fascinated by the old elevator. Both the dinner buffet and breakfast were excellent. Be sure to try the "curd" — a yogurt-like dish made from buffalo milk. There are plenty of activity options (for an additional fee), and I especially enjoyed tea plucking while wearing a saree. The staff were all helpful. The room wasn’t too spacious but was clean and nicely decorated. "
