Welcome to the line-up!
Finding the perfect gathering place for families, friends, and surfers was the family's goal when buying and rebuilding our jungle escape. As a family. we have travelled the world looking for a community to call home. After ten years of visiting Nosara and Playa Guiones, we finally decided that this was a place to lay our roots, build a community, and stay. In 2023, we designed, built, and opened our dream surf oasis.
The Line Up name came from our children…. it’s their favourite part of the surf day. Sitting out like ducks on the water gathering, meeting friends, and scoping waves is the highlight of their surf day. Why not bring that feeling back to shore to keep enjoying? The Line Up is a place for gathering, telling stories, and spending time together.
As owners and designers of the home, we wanted to pay homage to the beautiful country and jungle of Costa Rica, specifically the Guanacaste Peninsula, by creating a luxurious experience with modern, clean finishes and sourcing all materials, furniture, and fixtures from around Costa Rica. Every piece of wood is local Guanacaste wood. All lighting, cabinetry, art, and much more were hand-built and created in the area surrounding the property.
We hope you enjoy this magical jungle retreat. Take in the views, explore the jungle canopy, and, most importantly, enjoy your time with family and friends. So please relax, recharge and discover the wonders of Costa Rica.

Las Huacas Hillside is the premiere neighborhood in Nousara. The Lineup sits on two acres of the jungle, overlooking the famous Playa Guionnes beaches. The property is a quick 5-minute drive away from the beach. The hillside location brings a refreshing breeze, allowing for cooler temperatures and fewer bugs than in town.
Playa Guiones is on the Pacific side of Costa Rica on the Nicoya Peninsula and in the region of Guanacaste. It is a 7-mile stretch of white sand beaches. Two hundred meters back from the high-tide line is protected for the sea turtles to come lay their eggs.
At low tide, the entire Guiones Bay can be explored by bicycle or on foot. If you head far enough south, you’ll find several large tide pools that make for excellent snorkeling and relaxing. Past the tide pools, you will come upon Playa Rosada or Pink Beach, an amazing place to spend a few hours before the tide returns.
At the far north end of Playa Guiones, you will see the old Hotel Nosara, standing tall with its unique spire. The hotel is now closed, but it makes for a neat place to walk around and explore. There is also a walking path to Playa Pelada that goes right past the hotel grounds. This makes for quick and easy access to beautiful Playa Pelada.
Playa Guiones is one of the world's longest and most consistent surf breaks - perfect for both beginner and expert surfers. World-class yoga and excellent restaurants combine to create the ultimate vacation in paradise!
We highly recommend hiring some form of transportation to fully enjoy all that the area has to offer

Security
Nosara is absolutely a wonderful community and we can't wait to share all the good things that it has to offer. We care a great deal about our clients and for that reason, we also want to make you aware of one of the véry few downsides to Nosara: petty theft (they usually are out for your cash and your belongings as in any other tourism area). We would like to understand the dynamics of the group, so we can take care of you, put you in the right house and downsize the chance of you having any issues with this. Please feel free to inquire for more information. If not included, the property manager can arrange a dinner guard at an additional cost. The guest is responsible for securing and protecting their personal belongings and valuables left in and around the Property and for ensuring that all security features available are enabled every time they leave the Property.
Internet and Electricity
In the jungle, the utility infrastructure is unpredictable. There may be power, phone, and/or internet outages and interruptions in service. The Guest should not leave electronics plugged in during rainstorms. There isno guarantee that the Internet will always work. We have an excellent mobile phone signal with Kolbi and data rates are very reasonable. If internet access always is crucial, we encourage you to bring an unlocked phone and get a Kolbi SIM card. Please note that the Homeowner nor the Property Manager has no control over these situations and no refunds or discounts will be offered for outages or interruptions to these services. If there's any problem with the Property, please report it to the Property Manager.
Water
During the dry season months of December through April, the Property may have low water pressure due to temporary or scheduled water outages. We will do our best to notify Guests of any interruptions in water service or regularly scheduled water shut-offs.
Jungle creatures
We make every effort to present a well-cleaned home for your arrival. However, it is a jungle out there and nature can move in at any time. The Homeowners and Property Manager are not responsible for the fumigation or removal of insects that may enter the Property during the Guest's stay.Even though the house is regularly fumigated on a maintenance schedule, expect to see ants, beetles, spiders, and other assorted insects year-round. Bugs are especially active during the rainy season, May through November. Every effort is made to present a clean home at Check-In. To minimize the impact of bugs on your vacation, please keep food wrapped, store it in the refrigerator, clean kitchen counters and screen doors closed at all times (particularly at night).
Refunds
No refunds will be given for natural disasters, water outages, internet outages, security breaches, personal property losses, or nearby construction noise. This area is a rapidly growing community. There is no guarantee there will not be construction nearby.
Insurance
We encourage all Guests to purchase Traveler Insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances, accidents, or other issues that may prohibit Guests from travelling or fulfilling Rental terms.
