"Booked this hotel out of necessity because we wanted to do the bioluminescence tour in Castine (also highly recommend) and the Bucksport Inn just happened to be conveniently located. So glad we did! First, the service was exceptional. They called us the morning of our reservation to inform us that the TV in our room was broken, but to offer a different type of room (2 queens vs a king). "The room was amazingly beautiful and the hosts were helpful. The problem was the room was freezing and would not get warm. Luckily it was just a couples getaway so I was able to run home and get a small heater. If you are going to be open in the winter make sure the heater works!! We will definitely stay again just not during the winter. "

"The house is great but it needs a little upkeep. New throw rugs and upholstery cleaned. The beds and bathrooms were clean and comfortable but the cleaning crew should be fired. The rest of the house wasn't very clean. There was even a pair of men's underwear on the deck from a previous guest. The location was perfect though."
