"The lodge is at the base of a ski area with a gondola running to the top off season for restaurants and view. Walking path around property through the trees and across bridges was so beautiful in the fall. Our balcony view was also amazing"

"My wife and I spent an absolutely wonderful 3 days at the Mountain View while on a fall foliage trip. The ambiance of the place is noteworthy. It is a classic 19th century resort hotel, but it was completely restored in 2002 and looks fresh. We sat on the outdoor porch/veranda every evening before sunset, sipping wine and chatting with other guests, looking over an expansive view of white mountains including Mt. Washington. Like being in paradise. Service and food were excellent. Too bad the fine dining restaurant, the "1865" was only open Thursday-Saturday."

"Easy and quick check in from friendly staff. Apres bar not open which was a shame but we found plenty of places to eat in area . Room clean but a bit hot and air con wasn’t the best . Overall a nice hotel and the reception / bar area decor was great and unique . "

"The hotel was up on a hill over looking downtown Waterbury. Readily accessible to Waterbury and Stowe for great shopping and dining. The staff at the hotel are top notch and personable. Best part was a truly comfortable bed!"

"This is a quaint, spacious property with a pond in the back. Our room was large with a modern bathroom and overlooked the pond. It was very quiet. Also, much less expensive than other properties. Room preferences were honored. The man who checked us in was very nice. Location was convenient."

"This is a winter resort. If you are herefor the off season, lots of stuff isclosed. It might nt be a good option for families during the off season. "
