If you are looking for an excellent cabin in the Adirondacks in a quiet mountain location this is a wonderful place. Very clean and well taken care of.
Incredibly convenient location to stay at for a wedding weekend at the Lodge, and a dip in the lake the morning after was just the ticket. House was great with plenty of conveniences and plenty to do. Would stay again.
We enjoyed everything about staying at this property. Great location that is secluded, but not a far drive from some shops and restaurants. The lake access was fantastic. My friends loved the sauna. House was clean and well-stocked for cooking supplies. Charcoal grill, fire pit, and pool table were great to have. We appreciated access to firewood that was stocked too. Beds were super comfy and we had a great stay!
Our stay at Dan’s cabin met all of our expectations. It was a lovely cabin tucked away in the quiet woods with access to stores within 20 min. Dan was a great host and was very responsive to our questions. I would highly recommend this getaway.
Nice cabin , very thoughtfully and well stocked. Super comfortable bed. Sauna is a nice addition after a cold winter’s day hike. Wood stoves add a great ambience and heat wonderfully. Great location for hiking and cross country skiing at Garnet Hill and many other hikes. Thank you for a great stay!
Great place to unwind and be immersed in nature! The location was great- easy access to beach, lake and dining and hiking. The sauna and pool table were a great addition. There was plenty of room available and the kitchen was well equipped. The furniture was super comfortable.
overall we had a nice experience. Unfortunately there were many carpenter ants , spider webs and the house seemed very outdated. Downstairs bathroom had black mold which caused some trouble to my asthmatic husband. The location was great and the surrounding area was great.
We were very happy to return to GH after a gap of many years. Dan’s house was mostly as described and we enjoyed the area-tennis, hiking and rediscovering North Creek. 13th Lake was just as remembered. Beautiful water and environs. The pool table was a treat and we had lots of fun playing card games found in a drawer, especially UNO. Some disappointment that lighting for reading in LR and Bedrooms was insufficient. While we expected to eat several meals at the Lodge, the shortened hours there dampened our plans.
My wife and I booked for a two-night anniversary getaway. Host Dan was super communicative and directions and access were easy. On arrival, the property was very clean and commodious, the kitchen well equipped for our cooking needs ranging from simple breakfasts to more elaborate dinners. The woodstove in the main room was terrific and firewood was plentiful, dry, and easy to hand. Bed was super comfortable, pressure and hot water in showers was great. Super quiet at night. In short, a terrific base for our activities including a hike up nearby Moxham Mountain with breathtaking fall foliage views (about 20 minutes' drive away), coffee and antiquing in nearby North Creek. Would most definitely book again and bring our kids, parents, or another couple. Didn't even get to the sauna or the pool table downstairs! Thanks, Dan!
Our overall review of our stay/cabin was really great. The online listing was spot on...except the private beach isn't on the property or was there a path to the beach as assumed by listing..it is down the road a very short distance part of a state campground...once there the view and lake are lovely. There was an issue with ants that the owner made us aware of before check in and had addressed the problem. There were still some ants after the first day, but when the owner was contacted they were taken care of promptly and rest of stay was ant free. The cabin was a great home base to activities in the area. We took drives, dined at the local restaurants, toured down town North Creek which was amazing, and also ventured out to the surrounding towns. At night we relaxed, talked, played pool. We were very happy with our experience.
Cabin is as described in listing. All amenities, including abundant cut wood, are provided. The Cabin is ideal for those seeking a semi-remote location. The nearby town of North Creek is charming. Nearby restaurants are plentiful. The surrounding area, especially along the Hudson and Schroon Rivers, is beautiful. We would stay again if visiting the same area.
PS:
Dan, my wife says to invest in a couple of pot holders for the kitchen.
The host was an excellent welcoming communicator providing us with info about the property and area before we got there( we like to plan). Thanks for making our stay so comfortable. Everything was quality: comfortable beds, set of towels for everyone , even great pots and cooking tools and appliances in the kitchen. Furniture was very comfortable- not worn or sagging and great for my back. The layout is ideal with separate floors for master bedroom and bath from the other bedroom and bath off the living room and cathedral ceiling and wood burning stove and plenty of firewood . All the windows, deck and fire pit helped us enjoy the outdoors, as well as so many choices of hiking trails with Panoramic views so near. Really enjoyed the relaxing sauna and billiards table downstairs. Getting there was easy with easily traversed paved roads Even though it is right off the street you felt you are in the middle of the woods and can barely see www. yyhy . The next town over North Creek had some quaint shops great coffee and even antique shops.
Thanks for sharing your place so we could have a regenerative time together!

Cabin was as described, clean, and easy to find. Had a great weekend with beautiful fall foliage! Easy check in and check out. Wi-Fi worked well - the pool table and sauna were nice amenities too!
Nice size cabin in a quiet area. It was clean for the most part. There is a house phone which is nice because there is no cell service. There are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a nice comfy bed, the 2nd bedroom has 3 decent twin beds. There is also a futon bed in the livingroom and in the basement/rec room. Also, there is only 1 TV in the rec room/basement area. Overall I say is was nice enough that we would stay there again.
The place was beautiful. Dan was very helpful. Very reasonably priced for what the cabin offered. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, hikes, and ADK activities within 10 minutes of the cabin. Will definitely be back!
Over all the trip wasn’t bad the check in process, communication was great for timeliness. The listing did not say anything about you having to take your trash with you until the letter from the owner right before your stay. The cleanliness could have been so much better. I had to do a clean sweep the same night we got there. Hair was in the showers, towels left in washer/dryer, food was left on the floor downstairs. The other aspect was you couldn’t use the dressers there as they had clothes and other items in them. Messaged the owner and he responded to the issues we had. Overall the place was nice and quiet for a getaway just needs a little cleaning/different cleaning service.
Private, peaceful wooded location--a nice place to relax with friends. Despite a few cleanliness issues (not vacuumed under recliner or coffee tables; dirty microwave) overall, we enjoyed the stay. Be advised-you have to take your trash and recycles--was not in reservation description, but later doc sent by host. We had a wonderful meal at a local lodge only a few miles away.
